I used to hear a lot that I looked kind of sulky or like I was in a bad mood, you know? It’s probably because when I’m just sitting still with no expression, the corners of my mouth droop. But what’s really stressful is that my lips aren’t very pretty, and even when I smile or grin, they’re asymmetrical, so it feels like there’s a problem either way, kind of like that.
It was comfortable when I was wearing a mask, but these days I’m taking it off more often, and that’ll probably happen even more going forward, so I went for the mouth-corner surgery consultation I had been putting off.
First, I made reservations at the two most famous places with lots of reviews and went there.
1. ㄹㅇㅋ A place I’d seen on YouTube too, and the website kind of caught my eye. It was clean. I don’t think I got any particular feeling that they were especially kind or unkind either way. They said they would design it with a pretty ratio, but I didn’t see any samples I liked.
2. ㅁㄴ This place was clean as well. And I also got a strong impression that they were kind. I heard they’re also specialists in philtrum surgery, and they suggested a direction that suited my overall face, not just my lips.
Based on the information I had beforehand, I was leaning toward ㄹㅇㅋ, but after the in-person consultations, my mind went toward ㅁㄴ. Both sides are probably experts, but ㅁㄴ explained things in a way that was easier for me to understand. I plan to get consultations at other places too, but I hope this information is helpful as a reference.
