I didn’t visit all three places in one day, I visited ㄹㅎ / ㅅㅅ, ㄸㅋ on Saturdays over 2 weeks!
The year before last, I had non-incisional double eyelid surgery with natural adhesion + epicanthoplasty at a large hospital, but both eyes were almost coming undone + I was dissatisfied with the line height (by my standards, the line was high), so I went for consultations. (I also wanted lateral + lower canthoplasty, so I looked into those together. I wanted a natural inline to in-out line, so I brought celebrity photos.) Thinking this would be the last eye surgery of my life, I wanted to do it properly, so I “reserved” consultations with the *representative directors* at all of them!

I was surprised because the hospital facilities were bigger than expected and there were many consultants. There were also many people waiting and several Chinese patients. Seeing that there was also a Chinese-speaking consultant, it seems like a hospital with quite a high proportion of Chinese patients. Surprisingly, even though I had an appointment, I waited 2 hours just in the waiting area.. They took eye photos very meticulously. It went consultant-director-consultant. Both were kind. Just as they were about to start the consultation, apologizing for the long wait, suddenly outside the hospital, some woman was screaming and crying loudly, so my heart started pounding and I was really startled.. It happened right after I entered the consultation room, so I don’t know the reason, but it continued for a while and the consultant also seemed startled.. They said it seemed she was dissatisfied because the waiting time was long, smoothed it over, and continued the consultation... So after a rough consultation while still shaken, I waited briefly and continued the consultation with the director. (During that time, the person who screamed went into another consultation room, but the sound of her continuing to get angry still echoed.. The consultants near the desk all had sour expressions too..) The director was kind, and I liked that he explained well what parts needed to be improved to create the eyes I wanted, so my trust went up.. I think he understood my eyes well. But as expected, the surgery cost is burdensome,, so I’m deliberation...ing..

Visited at 10. (Maybe because it was my first consultation at a solo-doctor clinic.) By my standards, it was smaller than expected. It felt like a regular clinic(?) The wait wasn’t long, and there was no photo taking. Again, it went consultant-director-consultant, and maybe because it’s a solo-doctor clinic, I was taken aback because the consultant felt like half a doctor lol The consultant recommended surgical methods and held the line while telling me to close my eyes, open them.. upper eyelid this and that, anyway it was kind of interesting! The director was kind and answered all the questions I asked well. He said that to get close to the eye photo I wanted, I would need upper epicanthoplasty, so he recommended incision + ptosis correction + lateral + lower + medial like this. When I said I was worried because I’d seen many posts about side effects from ptosis correction, he reassured me that it’s rare and he personally hadn’t had issues so far, so I felt a bit relieved.. Here, if I don’t pay cash, the price difference is too big, so again I’m deliberation....

The hospital was big and there were many people waiting. After quickly taking eye photos, I waited about 20 minutes, then had a consultant-director-consultant consultation. Here too, the consultant tried holding my eye line.. then I met the director. He was kind as expected! The director said my eyes wouldn’t see a very big effect from lateral, lower, or medial canthoplasty. He said it would only be enough for me to feel satisfied myself, so I thought, oh.. But then he suddenly recommended an unexpected forehead lift. (A recommendation that if I wanted clearer-looking eyes, I should do a forehead lift instead of canthoplasty.) It wasn’t forced, and he only mentioned it lightly in the nuance that it was something he would recommend as an additional option after eye surgery, but since it was a surgery I hadn’t even considered, I wondered if this was a hospital where forehead lifts are the main thing? (When I was waiting, videos of forehead lifts for people in their 20s kept playing on the monitor too.) In conclusion, needing to do the forehead for clearer-looking eyes isn’t a small procedure and the price also felt more expensive than I expected, so I quickly ended the consultation and went home.
In terms of where my heart leaned (the feeling of “I think it’ll succeed!”), it was ㄹㅎ-ㅅㅅ-ㄸㅋ, and if I consider price too, ㅅㅅ-ㄹㅎ-ㄸㅋ. In the end, I’m debating between ㄹㅎ and ㅅㅅ, and I also wanted to go to ㅁㅊㅍ hospital, but they said the consultation is January 20, so I’m conflicted about whether to have surgery after consulting at ㅁㅊㅍ too, or just choose between these two.
