3-type facial contouring (zygoma reduction / square jaw [+asymmetry correction as well] / refinement of the asymmetric part of the chin)
I had a lot of concerns about my chin. Even up until I was planning the surgery and going around researching, the chin wasn’t something I had in mind,
but while going to consultations, at EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, the director was the only one among all the hospitals I consulted at who noticed the asymmetry in my chin.
After hearing that and looking at it, I realized there really was asymmetry in my chin. The square jaw asymmetry stood out more, so it had been overshadowing it..
When I went to consultations at other hospitals, there had been no mention at all about chin asymmetry, so it was fascinating, and since the director only performs bone surgery in the facial contouring area, I thought, “as expected, they really are different”..
Anyway, for the chin, I kept exchanging opinions with the director and thought about it until the day of surgery, and in the end I asked for only the asymmetric part to be lightly refined so that just that area could be improved, then went into surgery. I was grateful that my opinion was fully respected.
For the chin, I was debating among three options: not doing it at all / making it slimmer with a T-osteotomy / just lightly refining the asymmetry lol The director told me to think it over thoroughly and listened well to my opinion in terms of the surgical outcome.
Anyway, as you can see, before surgery, both the 45-degree cheekbones and side cheekbones were severe, but now the line matches perfectly with my temples, so I’m really happy haha
After about 9 months, the discomfort is really close to zero, to the point that I live forgetting I even had surgery. (It can vary from person to person ㅠㅠ)
As of now:
1. Side effects > none 2. Sagging > none 3. Mouth opening > free, but sometimes it does feel stiff (seems to happen after times when the muscles around the mouth become stiff, like after exercise or after waking up) 4. Food > I chew and eat even hard foods 5. Sensation > for the first few months, sensation in my right cheek was dull, but now it has all returned (I don’t even remember when it fully came back) 6. Exercise > weight training, high-intensity cardio, etc. are all possible
