First of all, I had a non-open tip procedure with cartilage binding + MegaDerm grafting, and it turned into a total disaster, leaving me with a dent on one side of my nose and a crooked tip.
I had that surgery when I knew nothing at all, even before I knew about this community site. After surgery, I found this community and got a lot of useful tips from reviews and comments here, and in the end my facial contour surgery type 1 (square jaw) was a huge success.
I want to share good information too, so I’m posting my own revision rhinoplasty research and clinic-hunting list. The online research list and the in-person consultation list are different except for one clinic (ㄹㅋㅋ), so please keep that in mind!
This post is a bit long, but especially when you look at the in-person consultation list, if you only want the info, you can just skip everything after the > signs! I wrote down my impressions and more detailed notes

2. ㅇㅌ: about 5 million / 2 surgeons (Woojin/Jumyeong) 3D CT, fascia used, friendly, easy to talk to Aftercare: suture removal on day 7, swelling laser, sebum & dead skin care * But the look is very flashy, and the reviews feel artificial > The reviews felt too artificial, and for the price I couldn’t see any special advantage, so I didn’t go for an in-person visit.
3. ㄹㅋㅋ: about 5 million / one surgeon Pursuit of naturalness, firm principles, no over-treatment, strong technique, considers nostrils important Aftercare: not much, apparently * But no CT, no post-op care, strong-willed doctor (in other words, stubborn)
ㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡIn-person consultation listㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡ 1. ㄹㅋㅋ > Consultation fee prepaid: 10,000 won
1) Diagnosis: It seems the MegaDerm was placed incorrectly. It looks like my nose had already been pinched even before surgery. Improvement of pinching and dents with a combined cartilage & dermis graft, and lowering the alar base is very necessary. If only the tip is raised, a step will form, and it will end up denting again like it is now, so silicone must be inserted, even if only a little.
2) Estimate: 4.5 million / no event or same-day discount >> silicone & ear cartilage & alar base lowering / sedation anesthesia
3) After surgery : day 2 packing / day 7 nose suture removal / day 14 ear suture removal
● I wasn’t given any explanation about aftercare, and maybe 1 or 2 years of A/S?
> I said I didn’t want silicone and only wanted the tip done, and he said that couldn’t be done, as if my nose itself was the kind of nose where that was impossible. His aesthetic standards are very clear, and it felt like he was trying to make everything fit that standard. Maybe he only wants to do surgeries with obvious before-and-after differences, the kind that can show dramatic reviews.. It didn’t seem like he aims for surgeries that preserve individual character, so I felt put off. Most of the before-and-after photos also looked similar in shape. His manner of speaking wasn’t especially kind either, and his face was incredibly handsome, I honestly thought he could be an actor Overall, something about it felt unpleasant, and it was a consultation that didn’t feel sincere. The facilities weren’t that good either, and the lighting was very dim..
The manager looked young and spoke gently and kindly, but there was no feeling of comfort or professionalism.
**Overall atmosphere and the consultation both fell far short of my expectations, so I passed..
2. ㅁㅌ > Consultation fee 10,000 won (not if you reserve) paid after consultation
1) Diagnosis: The bending and denting are because the cartilage was tied incorrectly. Improve the cartilage, improve the pinching and dents, and shorten the stretched columella.
2) Estimate: about 7 million / no event / 10% discount for same-day reservation >> septal cartilage & ear cartilage (depending on the situation) & alar base lowering / sedation anesthesia followed by local anesthesia -> They wake you up in the middle to check the condition directly.
3) After surgery : day 2 packing / day 7 nose suture removal / day 10 ear suture removal
The scar will be at its worst around one month, and follow-up visits are at 1 day, 2 days, 7 days, 10 days, and 3 months.
● Aftercare and A/S : No aftercare other than swelling injections on days 1 and 2 A/S guaranteed for 3 years (does not apply to cosmetic dissatisfaction)
> A lot of reviews said he looked tired, and even though my consultation was at the first morning slot, he really did look tired.. Still, he had the feeling of a kind, big uncle. He explained things in great detail, and it seemed like he was very skilled at surgery too. For one thing, he seemed to avoid one-size-fits-all surgery and to prefer customized surgery that improves the individual’s problems while preserving their unique features. That gave me trust. He also answered questions well, and I heard he only does 2 or 3 surgeries a day.
The manager was a bit older, but she felt professional and made me comfortable.
**But the price was way too brutal, so I passed..
3. ㅇㅂㅋ > Consultation fee: 30,000 won including 3D CT imaging (If you bring the CT images as a file on your phone, they don’t need to take another one)
1) Diagnosis: The thickness of fat on both sides of the nose tip feels different. So the cartilage inside seems to be showing through. The nose itself also feels uneven, but that seems to be because of incorrect cartilage binding. After taking the cartilage apart and repositioning it, improve the pinching, dents, and nostril asymmetry, and also improve the drooping tip (shorten the columella).
2) Estimate: regular price 6.71 million / event price 5.61 million + same-day reservation gets an extra 5% discount, so 5.33 million >> actual cartilage binding release (repositioning) & ear cartilage + postauricular dermis to improve pinching and dents & alar base lowering & use of absorbable collagen membrane
Because only one side has become thin, they plan to add thicker dermis there to fill it in, and lower the nostril that has been pinched and pulled upward to make it symmetrical. The absorbable collagen membrane is a material also used for implants, and it can smooth out a nose that looks bumpy from collagen, and as time passes it is all absorbed, while also helping make the bridge stronger, so it is not a foreign body and this is a no-implant surgery.
3) After surgery : nose suture removal on day 7 / postauricular suture removal on day 14
● Aftercare and A/S : swelling laser & injections, maybe 3 times? maybe 4 times? A/S guaranteed for 2 years (in case of cosmetic dissatisfaction, you cover part of the anesthesia fee and material fee)
> Since it’s a hospital that opened only a year ago, there aren’t many reviews. Still, the surgeon’s experience seemed fairly long, and he’d worked at two major hospitals, so that reassured me a bit.. Honestly, if I said that when choosing a surgeon I also look at their appearance, everyone would laugh at me.. but I do.. appearance is science.. At least his appearance was good.. He looked like a pure and clear country boy who studied hard and came to the city..
He said he only does 2 surgeries a day, at fixed times, and above all he explained everything with real sincerity...
After looking at my nose photos and the CT I brought, and after feeling my nose too, he held cotton swabs in both hands, told me to look in the mirror, and showed me what the problem was now and what shape the surgery result would take, pulling on my nose so I could see the problem and the expected result with my own eyes. Then he explained it again while drawing a picture, and at the end he wrote down the surgery plan and sequence on that same sheet of paper..
**Most of all, this was the only doctor who noticed that the fat thickness on the two sides of my nose was different.. I didn’t even know that.. At the other hospitals I visited, the doctors all touched my nose too, but no one said anything like that. Now that I think about it, when I had the cartilage binding + MegaDerm graft, they also said they would remove nasal fat layers with a laser? Maybe that’s why it ended up like this... But even the hospital that did the original surgery never mentioned this problem (I went back for a re-consultation there too), and this doctor noticed something I didn’t even bring up (I only mentioned the cartilage binding + MegaDerm) and explained in great detail how it would be fixed..
Then after the doctor consultation, when I met the manager, she just pulled out the price list and showed it to me openly.. She went through each item I was scheduled to have surgery for, and let me personally check the regular price and event price with my own eyes..
The surgeon and the manager weren’t extremely friendly, but there was absolutely no feeling that they were just in it for the money. (Of course, they were generally kind and spoke gently.)
The hospital itself was clean and the lighting was bright, so I liked the atmosphere as well.

(TMI) When I had contour surgery, I really prioritized the doctor’s kindness & delicacy + the ability to notice my problem even when I didn’t say it and explain it carefully + a good appearance.. and I ranked the manager’s kindness second and the hospital’s bright atmosphere third.. Since I ended up having a successful surgery, I got a similar feeling here too, so I ended up making a same-day reservation
Actually, even before I went for the consultation, I had already seen a case similar to mine on the surgeon’s blog, so this was the place I was most looking forward to!
