I’m writing a review of LASEK at Bright St. Mary’s Eye Clinic. Honestly, it was almost 9 months ago, so my memory is hazy, but I’ll write as much as I can based on the information I know. I’m sorry that the price isn’t exact either... I think it was somewhere from the high 2 million won range to the low 3 million won range.
I had Two-Day LASEK. Since it was surgery on my eyes, I think I added every option I could. Looking it up now, I think I did that PRP and glare prevention? something like that.
#Accessibility It was good because it was right in front of Exit 1 of Gangnam Station. It was convenient because it was close right after surgery, when my eyes stung a lot, and for frequent regular checkups.
#Cost I used an exam-taker discount and a university partnership, so I think it was very slightly...? cheaper.
#Surgery review It was a factory-style clinic. Honestly, part of why I chose it was because it was a factory-style clinic. When I went for examinations, the machines were lined up in a row, so the exam proceeded quickly as I just moved from chair to chair. The surgery process was also that I went down to the floor where only surgeries are performed, waited, and then could get the surgery right away. I had same-day consultation, same-day examination, and same-day surgery, so that may have made it feel even faster.
The surgery process was exactly as described on the internet. The smell like protein burning, cold water, the feeling that something was wiping my eyes, vision that became cloudy and then bright again. On the way home my eyes throbbed, and when I got home the anesthesia wore off and it felt like my eyes were on fire, plus the inconvenience of having to keep putting in artificial tears. But after 2 days, the pain really disappeared as if nothing had happened. Maybe because I had looked up so many surgery reviews before going, it felt familiar, like I had experienced it once before.
I’m satisfied with the surgical result. My last checkup was 6 months after surgery, and even though I had really high myopia, my vision went up to about 0.9 in both eyes. I’m satisfied in everyday life too, but once I took off my glasses, my nasal bridge came back to life... I’m really satisfied. The nasal bridge that had been pressed down by glasses all this time rose together. Since it’s a factory-style clinic, the doctors did seem tired... to some extent, but I liked the system that runs systematically in a factory-style way, so I’ve been recommending it to people around me.
