Before <before surgery> After <after surgery> My double eyelid lines overlapped, so the line looked different every day, and on days when there was a lot of swelling, it would sometimes come undone. These were eyes I had been wearing double eyelid tape on for a long time!
When I opened my eyes wide and looked straight ahead, the line was thin and hard to see, and often looked like a completely hidden double eyelid. That felt frustrating, and since the overlapping line changed every day, my eye shape looked odd and the balance between both eyes felt off, so I decided to get buried-suture double eyelid surgery.
It was a clinic my older sister recommended because she was very satisfied after getting ptosis correction on only one eye there, so I did not really go for consultations anywhere else and immediately booked a consultation with Director Yoo Ha-hyun at JT Plastic Surgery haha. They probably have no idea that biological sisters came to get surgery from the same person haha.
Anyway, I applied through an app at the event price and had the consultation. What I wanted was to always maintain the line I had when my double eyelid was well formed, and I did not want my eye shape to change after surgery. The director also said I probably did not need to be too ambitious and guided me according to the line I wanted. I really liked that.
On the day of surgery, they administered general anesthetic, then after local anesthesia they woke me up and sutured each stitch one by one. There was nothing creepy or painful about that process at all; I just stayed dazed, rambled nonsense, and then it was over haha.
The bruising was only about 2 cm above one eyelid, and I used the eye patch the clinic gave me and took the pumpkin juice and prescribed medication too. For about 2 days I was pretty swollen, but from day 3 I started working while wearing glasses, and since no one looked closely, nobody noticed. There was even a coworker who was surprised and asked why I was so little swollen when only 4 days had passed. (I normally do not swell much anyway.) After about a week, it stayed slightly plump, and after 2 weeks, except for the bruise shrinking to about 1 cm, the swelling had gone down a lot, so it was not very noticeable. My eyes felt a little stiff and tight. I occasionally had pain too, but they said it was a normal reaction, so I lived at ease.
After about a month, it just looked exactly like my original eyes. According to the director, there were still scars left for now, but in another month they would be completely unnoticeable. But I could not see them at all, so I was more shocked by the fact that they said scars still looked like they remained. I cannot see anything at all with my eyes..?? haha. Anyway, my eyes became a bit more defined than before, but the height was not different, so no one knew I had surgery, and I was very satisfied too. There was still slight pain when rubbing or pulling my eyes, though. After 2 months, even that completely disappeared!
Conclusion: I was very satisfied. No one will ever know I had surgery for the rest of my life. But from before the consultation until the surgery date, I went around bragging about it everywhere hahaha. Even at work I kept saying, look at this, you cannot tell. It looks natural~~ haha.
I am curious what it would be like if I got canthoplasty or an incision method. For now, I was very pleased because the buried-suture method turned out exactly as I had hoped.
