I had consultation appointments booked at a total of 5 places, and since the consultation date for one place hasn’t come yet, I’ll write about the first 4 places only.
First of all, I had partial-incision + ptosis correction double eyelid surgery in an in-out line 4 years ago. By the 1-year mark, my right eye had already almost completely loosened, and the outer side of my left eye had loosened too, so I’ve lived like that until now. I wanted to re-fix the loosened line by making it a bit larger into a semi-out line, and I also wanted lateral + lower canthoplasty, so I went around for consultations.
1. ㅊㄷㅅㅌㅇ The first place I had a consultation. Incision + lateral/lower canthoplasty + ptosis correction They seemed to care a lot about bruising and scarring. They designed the line the prettiest, exactly in the style I wanted. AS is possible for 1 year, and anesthesia is local anesthesia after 2-3 minutes of sedation. When I asked if lateral canthoplasty reattaches, they said they plan to make the incision taking reattachment into account. Overall, it seemed like they would do everything the way I wanted. It felt like, “You want the line higher? Okay, I’ll raise it. You want lateral/lower canthoplasty? Okay, I’ll do it.” The desk staff and the director were all kind.
2. ㄷㄲㄹㅈ Incision + lower canthoplasty Here, they designed a semi-out line, but they seriously made it look like a sausage line, so I was shocked. When I asked if it wasn’t too high, they said it has to be raised about this much to make a semi-out line. And because my eyebrows and eyes are close together, they said I would need a lift to raise it to the line I want. When I asked about lateral/lower canthoplasty, they said the outer corner of my eye is already open, so I don’t need lateral canthoplasty and they only recommended lower canthoplasty. They also said I don’t need ptosis correction. AS is 1 year. They said they don’t do sedation here and go straight into local anesthesia. If I want sedation, it costs extra.
3. ㄹㅍㅌ - ㅈㅁㅅ Buried suture method + ptosis correction This place examined me the most thoroughly and the consultation was good too. As I mentioned earlier, because my eyebrows and eyes are close together, when I said I wanted a semi-out line, they advised against making the double eyelid line higher. A lift was mentioned here too. Still, they said if I really wanted to raise it, they would do it with the buried suture method so it could be undone later. When I brought up lateral/lower canthoplasty, they advised against lateral canthoplasty because when they designed my double eyelid line, the outer double eyelid crease didn’t form clearly all the way to the outer corner line, so the double eyelid crease could look short. They said there isn’t much room to open with lower canthoplasty either. They didn’t really recommend it because my eyes are already open. AS is up to 2 years, and anesthesia is sedation + local.
4. ㄱㄴㅍㅅㅌ Incision + lateral canthoplasty I waited over a month just for the appointment. But they definitely seemed to have an accurate eye. When I said I wanted to raise the line, they said if the line is raised, it will be too close to the eyebrows and the eyelid skin will look too bulgy, and they said my existing line was very well made, so they recommended using the existing line. They also said I would need a lift to raise the line. They said fat removal could also be done if needed. But they designed the line in a way that really made the skin on my eyes bulge out, so it looked strange. For lateral canthoplasty, they said because the bone is close, even if they open it, they can only open about 1 mm, so it wouldn’t be effective. At first, for lower canthoplasty, they looked at my left eye and said, “There isn’t much to open?” But when I said I wanted it because of my right eye, they said the left is already open so about 1 mm, and the right is more closed than the left, so they would open it a bit more. Because of its reputation, it was the most expensive. I forgot to ask about AS here, but I don’t think there would be much need to receive it anyway. Anesthesia is sedation + local.
For now my heart is set on No. 1, but I think I’ll go to the place I booked for next week one more time and then decide.
