I’m someone preparing for my first cosmetic surgery... My eyes only open wide if I put strength into my eyebrows...
1. ㅁㅌㅂ Plastic Surgery, Director ㅂㅈㅎ
The consultation went in the order of consultant-director-consultant. The consultant was kind and skillful. I think you can picture the typical consultant style. Since they must have consulted countless people and watched surgical processes, they probably get a sense right away of what areas need to be done. They provided that assessment in a rapid-fire way. (They recommended incision, epicanthoplasty, and lateral canthoplasty.) However, depending on the person, for a cosmetic-surgery beginner it could feel a bit overwhelming to suddenly receive so much information all at once, and I thought someone with prior cosmetic-surgery experience might be more okay with it.
The director spoke very warmly and spent a long time explaining in detail. They also shaped the line for me. It was very good and helpful that they showed before-and-afters on the monitor. Everyone’s eye shape is different, of course, but I felt the after results were slightly different from the style I wanted. I had considered epicanthoplasty, but I had not thought about lateral canthoplasty, so I became a bit conflicted.
The price was about 3.5 million won for incision, upper epicanthoplasty, and lateral canthoplasty.
2. ㅇㅇㅌ(number) Plastic Surgery, Director ㅎㄱㅇ
The consultation also went in the order of consultant-director-consultant. Here, the consultant was amazing. It was consultant ㅅㅇㅈ, and they listened to my story enough and did not provide too much information all at once. They consulted step by step, carefully considering the person’s feelings. I did not bring up ptosis correction from the beginning; I started by saying that I have to open my eyes using strength and so on, but they gradually moved through the conversation, and only at the very end did the term ptosis correction come from the consultant’s mouth. I was a bit moved by how they tried to understand and be considerate as much as possible during the conversation. (They recommended incision and epicanthoplasty.) Usually, when it comes to consultants at any hospital, I feel a slight resistance, but this person broke that prejudice. It seemed like a consultation style that neither beginners nor experienced patients would dislike. If I end up having surgery here, the consultant will have an enormous share in that decision.
The consultation with Director ㅎㄱㅇ ended faster than expected. I do not mean that it was perfunctory. Of course, I had also watched a lot of the director’s YouTube videos and knew the content, so that made the conversation easier. They shaped the line while I looked in the mirror, and although an inner double eyelid is one thing, I liked how they held the front part of my eye..
The price was incision + upper epicanthoplasty or epicanthoplasty, I think about 2.75 million won.
Somehow this feels like it became a review of the consultants rather than the hospitals or directors, but for a beginner like me, I think the consultant is important too.. I hope this helps someone!
PS: I’m now thinking about a consultation with Director ㅇㄱㅁ at ㅇㅂㅈ Plastic Surgery, so if there are any hospitals and directors you can recommend, please let me know!
