Nose Surgery Reviews@rhino-review

I had consultations at three places; could you maybe take a look and help me decide...

First place: Director ㅂㅈㅎ at ㅁㅇㅌ The review photos were not really my style, but my friend had surgery here, so I thought it seemed safe and went. It was my first consultation, and they took a CT. The impression was not bad, but the consultation was not that detailed. I went because of my bulbous nose, but they said alar base reduction is not removing flesh, so I got confused about that part, wondering if that is not what happens when it is done by incision. I did not want to raise it a lot, but they said my nasal bridge is not that wide, so osteotomy is not necessary. Here, they suggested raising it by 3 mm, shaving the hump, and using autologous costal cartilage. They roughly held my nose into a shape in advance to show me, but I did not like it.. After the consultation, I talked with the consultant, and she said they do not provide scar ointment, so I was like, huh..? She said I could just apply something sold on the market, and the aftercare explanation was not detailed. I was flustered, so I could not ask more. After that, they said I could come back for another consultation anytime if needed, which was good. They said the deposit would be fully refunded as long as I contacted them up to 4 days before, so I went ahead and put one down.. They recommended alar base reduction, bulbous nose improvement, and lowering the columella. This was where I heard that my nose is curled upward, and only then did I learn about lowering the columella. What I had known was only raising the nose, alar base reduction, and cartilage tying.

Second place: Director ㅇㅎㅅ at ㅁㅌ I went with expectations because I heard they make it natural. It felt more like a neighborhood clinic than a plastic surgery clinic. In one consultation review, someone said they decided not to do it because the cigarette smell was too strong, and it was true.. They did not take a CT, and they took photos from multiple angles and talked while looking at them. And they said what I had written down was not important; they just looked with their eyes and explained what needed to be done. They placed silicone models on my nose and said I could choose whichever looked okay among them. They said I could decide whether to do osteotomy or not. For alar base reduction, because I have many sebaceous glands and thick skin, they said if I did it, I would scar more than other people, so I think they said they could not do it by incision. Also, the consultation ended too quickly, and the conversation went in a direction like, the photos I showed them would not be possible and they would not know what shape would come out after surgery, so I thought this place was just not it..

Third place: Director ㅎㅅㅊ at ㅎㅌ He read what I had written the most carefully and answered everything. They also took a CT here. Here, they said if I did osteotomy, the alar area would look that much wider, so let’s not do osteotomy, but I was surprised because they suggested raising it by 3.5-4.5 mm.. And they suggested alar base reduction with internal and external incisions. When I mentioned scarring, they said there would be scarring, but the surgery fee here includes laser treatment costs, so they would do laser treatment too and provide ointment.. Also, I really liked the review photos here, but the consultant gave off such a strong feeling that she found me really bothersome ㅜ Like, do it or don’tㅠ Here, they said they would use the septal cartilage as much as possible, but if it is insufficient during surgery, they would have no choice but to use ear cartilage. I had said I did not want ear cartilage because I did not want them touching my ear ㅜ And one thing that bothers me a bit is that when I consulted with the consultant, she recommended nasolabial angle correction, but I did not know what that was and only heard that it would prop up the area where the philtrum goes in. When I talked with the director, he only recommended lowering the columella, but when I said the consultant had mentioned the nasolabial angle, the conversation kind of went, “Oh, okay, yes, let’s do that,” so after I came home and looked it up, people said doing that can make the philtrum look longer ㅜ -> I misunderstood this part. The director also brought up the nasolabial angle before I said it, but I just missed it and brought it up afterward.

I wanted to do it here, so I put down a deposit, but what bothers me is that there were no photos taken from below in the review photos here. I asked to see them, and it looked like the nostrils became long like a 110-volt outlet, so I said I did not like that and asked how much smaller it would get if reduced by internal incision. They said it would get smaller, so I just left, but it keeps bothering me. So I asked whether I could exclude the nasolabial angle correction later, and they said I could discuss it and take it out if I wanted to. So I said that I wanted to look at my philtrum shape, and on the day of surgery I think I would be too out of it, so could I maybe have another consultation? But they blocked it off, saying there would be enough time during preoperative design.. At that time, I did not even know what the nasolabial angle was, and they had not told me what they would fill it with ㅜ When I came home and asked, the consultant said they would fill it with septal cartilage, and if that was insufficient, they would use cartilage..

What keeps bothering me is that I think ㅎㅌ is okay, but the nasolabial angle, the nostrils getting longer, and while searching here, I saw people say there are some bad stories about ㅎㅌ, but I do not know what they are. And I think I also saw posts or comments saying the reviews are edited, so I am torn.. I like the consultation, but a few things feel really unsettling..

I wonder if it would be better to go back to the first clinic for another consultation, but the side-view review photos are really not my style ㅜ Among the review photos, I liked ㅎㅌ the most, but what if those are edited? ㅠ

Another thing I am curious about: if ear cartilage is used, does inflammation occur easily? Is the material not very good? And if they raise it by 3.5, does the height increase evenly by 3.5 all the way to the nasal tip?

If anyone can recommend other places, please recommend them in the comments...
