Nose Surgery Reviews@rhino-review

Male bulbous nose surgery, week 2, nasal bridge comparison

It was my first surgery, and my nose was in a pure state with absolutely no prior filler or surgery experience.

It was surgery for a bulbous nose, and for the nasal height and bulbous nose improvement I wanted, I boldly chose autologous costal cartilage even though it was my first surgery.

Of course, most clinics said the surgery could be done with septal cartilage and ear cartilage alone through septal extension,

but to achieve a result I would be satisfied with using my septal cartilage, they clearly would have had to harvest it up to its limit, and if septal extension

were done that way, considering various factors such as my relatively thick skin and the high nasal tip height needed to improve the bulbous nose, in the long term

I judged that there would be a higher possibility of needing secondary surgery as the septum’s condition worsened, the nasal tip drooped, and the overall nasal condition deteriorated.

Rather than going for a second surgery later, paying more money, and using autologous costal cartilage then, I decided to use it from the first surgery while leaving the septum untouched and maintaining it in a healthy state.

(For reference, my septum was unusually very straight, and the nasal valve gaps were good too, so there was no need to touch the septum.)

Using autologous costal cartilage, a firm and abundant material, we decided to build a column in the columella and support toward the septal side so that the nose would absolutely not drop,

and to operate very sturdily with the tripod surgical method.

Most of the 17 clinics I went to for consultations recommended nostril reduction, but I boldly decided not to do it, and if it was really necessary,

it was something I could decide after the surgery, so I passed on it. The result was very satisfying. If I had done nostril reduction, it really would have gone badly.

Only one clinic mentioned osteotomy, while the other 16 all said it was unnecessary, and I also thought a slim, delicate nose on a man was not appealing,

so I decided not to do it. The nasal bridge was raised by 5 mm with silicone. At the first consultation, the doctor said 4 mm, but during surgery, it seems the nose lifted higher than expected,

so I think they raised it about 1 mm more.

I also had nasolabial angle correction, and maybe because the nasolabial folds improved a bit too, my image seems to have changed a lot.

Now at week 2, there is still some swelling around the nostrils and inside the nose near the glabella, but even with the current state, I am very satisfied.

It really hardly looks like I had surgery, and I think it turned out very naturally and really well!

I’m about to enter my 40s soon, and although it was surgery I decided on at a late age, I’m satisfied because I think I made a good choice~!
