Before-before, after-after hello.
I’m someone who is now a little over one week post-op from incisional ptosis correction.
Previously, I had true ptosis, and my eyelashes were also somewhat poking my eyes, so I decided to get ptosis correction both to improve my eye structure and, while I was at it, for cosmetic purposes too.
I originally planned to write about my consultations, but some personal things came up and I couldn’t be bothered, so I didn’t.
I looked into 5 places for consultations and went to see the doctors. In the case of the hospital I ultimately chose, the doctor prefers natural results, has a lot of experience and is well known for male surgeries, so I went there. When they shaped my eye line during the consultations, I liked it the most, and I felt they diagnosed me without overtreatment, so I decided on this place.
It was almost my last consultation, and because of scheduling, I didn’t pay the deposit immediately but placed it around that afternoon. The precautions came by text a few days before, and the time was set the afternoon of the day before.
As for the surgery process, in my case, my eyes protrude and I also have true ptosis, so they said it had to be done by incision, but that they couldn’t cut too much. After drawing the line again before surgery and reviewing it, they started. For anesthesia, I briefly had sedation anesthesia at the beginning, and after I woke up, the procedure continued while I was conscious. For checking the line, I had to keep looking at the doctor from different directions periodically and blink my eyes. It felt like they checked very diligently while doing it, so personally I thought the surgical process was very good. I think it took about 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Afterward, there was no separate care that required going to the hospital, and since I received a prescription and ice packs, I did those two regularly for almost a week. At the one-week mark, when the stitches were removed, I had my final consultation with the doctor, and now I think I just need the remaining minor swelling and bruising to go down.
Personally, I didn’t really have pain from the surgery through afterward, so I didn’t suffer from pain. I only felt a little something on the first day when the anesthesia wore off, but even that wasn’t very painful.
Instead, I tend to keep bleeding, so I think I had quite a lot of scabbing and bruising. In my case, because I had personal things to take care of and ended up walking a lot, I think the swelling really went down a lot within a week.
People around me said it looked natural, so once the swelling goes down, they might not even know I had surgery, and my eye shape has been maintained naturally, while the sleepy-looking eyes, eyelashes poking my eyes, and forehead wrinkles I had wanted to improve have improved. There was also an acquaintance who felt it was a shame, saying that if I was going to do it, I should have made it bigger or more obvious, but as someone who pursues a natural look, I think the result came out satisfyingly.
