I'm someone who came up from Daegu, and even though I've only been to a measly three places while living in Seoul, it was this exhausting. It really made me think people from outside Seoul must be having such a hard time. I'm writing this consultation review in hopes it helps even a little with choosing hospitals for consultations. Even if you arrive on time, you end up waiting an hour at a time ㅜ Make sure to leave plenty of time open.
First of all, my nose tip is upturned. My nose kind of... feels like it ends too early? lol If it just followed my original line downward, it would look acceptable, but because it ends early, it looks like it lacks height too. That's the kind of upturned nose I have. I thought I didn't have a nasal bridge either, but every place I went for consultation said I do have some bridge, so I figured that must be the case. The shape I want is Song Hye-kyo's line, but without being greedy, absolutely natural!
1. ㄷㅇㄷ I heard the director had quite a temper, so I was nervous, but it wasn't like that for me. First, they didn't take photos before the consultation. They also didn't take a CT scan, which all the other places did. They said they would first open the nose, and if the septal cartilage was insufficient, they would use ear cartilage. I have a slight hump, and they said if this part is shaved down, the nose can be made a bit longer, and if it isn't shaved, it will look a little more upturned but higher. But here, they didn't ask at all what line I wanted. It felt like, there are two things I'm good at, choose option 1 or option 2 lol Still, there was one thing I really liked about this place: they said they would lay fascia underneath to prevent show-through. That method was genuinely tempting. Consultation fee: 10,000 won
2. ㄹㅂㄹ Here, they pointed out exactly why my nose looks unattractive, so I wondered if large, famous places really are different. They suggested shaving the hump and lowering the columella, but said my septal cartilage is too small, so no-implant surgery would not work and that we should use costal cartilage. I wanted no implant from the start... Since this hospital is known for doing more glamorous results well, when they suggested costal cartilage, I was a bit worried the result might look unnatural. But I think the director's eye is top-tier. If I had wanted a glamorous look, I probably would have done it here!! Consultation fee: 10,000 won
3. ㅊㄷㅊ Here, maybe because the director is an otolaryngology specialist, after taking the CT, he immediately caught that I have rhinitis and suggested doing functional rhinoplasty together. The moment I heard that, I really liked it. Here, they said my septal cartilage is not small, and that lowering the columella is possible with septal cartilage alone. They said if it were insufficient, they would use ear cartilage, and they absolutely do not recommend costal cartilage for a first surgery. I really liked this part too... Since the style also matches mine and functional rhinoplasty would be done together, and it's even affordable, I still have consultations left at a few hospitals, but I think my mind is already set on this place lol The consultation fee is a bit expensive: 25,000 won
When I had my consultation at ㅊㄷㅊ, I was a bit short on time, so it was rushed. I'm going again on Thursday, and if there aren't any major changes in the consultation details, I think I'll do it at ㅊㄷㅊ. People from outside Seoul, hang in there. Rhinoplasty seniors, if there's anything I'm misunderstanding, please let me know!!
