Before <Before surgery> After <After> After <After> I had surgery at One Pick Plastic Surgery in Nonhyeon, and now that about a month has passed, I think it has settled pretty well! I had my nasal bridge, hump nose, bulbous nose, and nasolabial angle correction done. I’m calling this a review, but honestly there isn’t much to write about the day of surgery. I was so nervous while lying on the operating table, and then suddenly I opened my eyes and I was in the recovery room... That’s about it, so I don’t have many particular memoriesㅜㅜ If I remember anything, it’s just that I kept saying I could walk and tried to go somewhere, and the hospital nurse who was guiding me kept stopping me, telling me to lie down for now and that I couldn’t yet. If I had been even more reckless and tried to walk then, I might have fallen and smashed my noseㅜㅜ
For the first day after nose surgery, because of the cotton blocking my nose, I really couldn’t breathe through my nose at all, so I was just gasping through my mouth and it was so frustrating. When the cotton was removed after a day, the air coming in felt truly sweet, like a whole new world.
Since surgery involves cutting skin and using a scalpel, I was worried it would hurt so, so much, but once I actually had the surgery, rather than feeling pain, the stronger feeling was discomfort from having to be careful about all kinds of things!
Honestly, as long as I took the medicine from the hospital regularly, I don’t think there were many times when I felt much pain. Instead, the hardest parts were having to breathe through my mouth at first, and having to sleep lying straight on my back. My usual sleeping position was lying on my side, burying one side of my face firmly into the pillow, and curling my legs up like a shrimp to make it cozyㅜ But after nose surgery, they told me to sleep straight on my back for a month, so I was so conscious of it that I think I slept a bit poorly... I was also worried that while tossing and turning in my sleep, I might unknowingly lie on my side and ruin everything by myself, but maybe people stay aware of their noses even while sleeping, because that absolutely didn’t happen haha.
Now I sleep just fine with my face buried sideways without thinking about it. Neither the hospital nor anyone else told me, “You can sleep on your side again now~,” but I think I naturally came to feel on my own, ah, at this point it should be okay.
Anyway, the most important thing, the nose shape, was honestly so swollen at first that I seriously looked unattractive, and I felt embarrassed even seeing the hospital nurses? staff? and didn’t want to go outside, but since the hospital staff probably see that every day, they likely didn’t care... and outside, I could wear a mask, so fortunately nothing that humiliating happened! In that sense, I think it was really fortunate to have surgery during the COVID era.
Around a week after surgery, I wore a mask and went on lots of walks. Other people probably wouldn’t care much, but I still didn’t want to run into anyone if possible, so I only went out at night. From around then, I slowly started calling friends over near my house and showing them haha.
The swelling started going down faster from around 2 weeks? Honestly, at that time it felt like the two sides had become uneven, so I liked it even less than in the early surgery period, and I think that was when I most often wondered, did this fail? But now both sides have gone down well, so I don’t think that anymore. I guess the swelling subsides at different speeds on each side, and that period was seriously the most stressful.
For the past month, aside from dropping my phone while lying down and hitting my nose with the corner, I’ve been doing well without any painful spots!
Whenever my friends see me and say they want to get their noses done too, I feel good, and I think I’m relieved it turned out so well compared with how worried I was.
But!! I’m happy now because my surgery went well and things worked out. If it had gone badly and I had to keep carrying the stress I felt during weeks 2-3, just imagining that is truly awful.
So please don’t ever take it lightly and get it done just anywhere. Price matters too, but more than anything, I hope you think carefully and choose a place where communication is good, they listen well, and they think things through with you!
