Monolid student preparing for exams. Went with my mom.
1. Gangnam Station, Grida - Director Kim Hyun-soo - Consultant + director + consultant - Natural adhesion + epicanthoplasty + non-incisional ptosis correction - 330 > 250 (review condition) (no student discount) 210 if booking immediately - Surgery 1 hour / sedation + local anesthesia - Card = cash - Since it was the first clinic I visited, I was nervous. Honestly, I liked the line the consultant made for me more than the one the director made. Before the consultation, the director said that he has a daughter, and that rather than growing up to be pretty, he hopes she grows into a charming woman. Then he told me to take off my mask, looked at my bare face, and said I was cute(?) and that I would be okay without plastic surgery. (I’m not sure whether he was being honest or just saying it to build trust.) He also made a line that would suit me and made me feel comfortable. Maybe because he is the director, there was barely any discount, and he said he has that much pride in his work. Honestly, I liked it, but it was more expensive than I expected, so that was disappointing.
2. Gangnam Station, Topclass (recommended by an acquaintance) - I had an appointment with Director Park Sun-jun, but they said it would be delayed because of surgery, so I rescheduled for 10 a.m. the next day, but then just canceled and didn’t go. I did have a consultation with the consultant. - Natural adhesion + ptosis correction + epicanthoplasty + fat removal - AS 1 year
3. Sinsa Station, Pitangui (recommended by an acquaintance) - Director Yoo Je-sung - Director + consultant - Incisional double-eyelid surgery + epicanthoplasty + ptosis correction - 230 > 180 (acquaintance discount) - Surgery 1 hour - Card = cash - This was the only place that recommended an incisional method. An acquaintance had incisional surgery here, and even so, the scars were almost nonexistent, like they were just her own eyes, so I had some level of trust. At first, he recommended all 360-degree canthoplasty: front + outer + lower. The director himself seemed to have a lot of pride, and confidently said he would design it and make it pretty on his own. The consultant was really professional. She accurately noticed that I looked slightly strabismic (I had strabismus correction surgery when I was young), and said it would be good to do epicanthoplasty to compensate for that. She also said the reason my eyes look protruding is that, unlike other people, my brow bone does not protrude. The consultant was great, but the director, without much explanation, was basically like, if I just leave it to him, it will turn out pretty. I understand his pride and confidence, but still, incision felt burdensome.
4. Apgujeong, Orange - Director Kim Yang-soo - Director + consultant - Natural adhesion + epicanthoplasty - 170 (card) > 160 (cash) > 125 (student discount) - Surgery 1 hour / local anesthesia - Card = cash - AS 10 years - This was the only place that said I did not necessarily need ptosis correction. Among the clinics I visited, they pursued the most natural result. My mom really liked hearing that AS was 10 years. He directly measured the distance between my eyes with a ruler and recommended 1.5 mm of epicanthoplasty on each side. He said to come back 5 days later to remove the stitches. The facilities seemed the oldest among the clinics I visited, but the director’s skill seemed really good. This clinic gave the biggest student discount. Because he pursued an extremely natural result, I trusted him a lot, and it seemed like he was trying to minimize the risk that much.
5. Apgujeong, Almond - Director Park Dong-kwon - Consultant + director + consultant - Natural adhesion + epicanthoplasty + non-incisional ptosis correction - 171.6 (review condition + student discount) - Review-condition deposit 100,000 won - Surgery 40 minutes / sedation + local anesthesia - Card = cash - AS 1 year - I had seen so many positive reviews, so this was a clinic I personally had high expectations for. But after actually getting the consultation, I was a bit disappointed. Maybe my expectations were too high..ㅜㅜ The director seemed very tired. He only answered what I asked and did not explain much. He told me to do whatever I wanted. It was a clinic that uses dissolvable stitches. That was a bit tempting haha. While waiting for the consultation, I also watched videos of other directors, and I was really drawn to Director Kim Sang-heon. If I get another chance to have a consultation next time, I want to try getting one with Director Kim Sang-heon. This is just my personal opinion, so I hope everyone weighs what I said carefully before deciding.
6. Sinnonhyeon, Dress (recommended by an acquaintance) (decided on here) - Director Hong Su-jeong - Consultant + director + consultant - Natural adhesion + diagonal canthoplasty + ptosis correction - 169.4 (event price + 30,000 won student discount) - Card = cash - At first, I did not have high expectations, but in the end, this was the clinic where I paid a deposit, set a surgery date, and left. The consultant was just so-so. The director looked very busy and tired. Even so, she gave the most delicate and detailed consultation. She confidently said that if I had surgery, it seemed like it would turn out well. She recommended diagonal canthoplasty, and the line and degree of widening she made looked quite good. She explained things calmly so my mom and I could understand, and I trusted her a lot. I asked about scarring after diagonal canthoplasty, and she said the scar would not remain much because of this and that. (I think she said it would be hidden in the double-eyelid crease, or something like that.) It was the 6th and last clinic, and after going to several places, I could see the common points in what the doctors said, and Dress felt like it addressed my concerns the most clearly. Maybe it felt that way even more because it was the last one.. Still, I paid a deposit of 200,000 won and even set the surgery date I wanted.
I saw quite a few recommendation posts about Dress, and also saw a few posts saying they do not recommend it because it is factory-style, so I’m curious about everyone’s opinions. No clinic can be good for absolutely everyone.. Still, everyone, I would be really grateful if you could comment on whether it would be okay for me to have surgery at Dress, the place I chose..!!
+ For reference, I brought photos of Kang Hye-won and Irene (thinking about it now, I guess I brought them just because they were pretty..). Originally, I was just going to consult thinking simply about my first double-eyelid surgery, incisional or non-incisional, but I realized that my eyes have a slight strabismus tendency, weak eye-opening strength, and look sleepy. And because most clinics recommended the same thing, ‘natural adhesion + epicanthoplasty + ptosis correction,’ I realized that I definitely needed this 3-piece set.. Every clinic recommended an in-out line. I brought a notebook and took notes during the consultations. There were no consultation fees anywhere.
