First, sorry about my hair.... lol.. Since surgery, I haven’t gone out except for walks, and because I was discharged early from the military, I can’t work either, so I’m just recovering without thinking. (I was in the auxiliary police, so my hair is long)
This is my first plastic surgery, and I wrote it according to my own standards and just as it is.

At first, I visited a dental clinic because of orthodontic treatment, and I was diagnosed(?) as having “asymmetry, and this is a two-jaw surgery case.” I originally had asymmetry and was aware of it. I kept looking into two-jaw surgery (I went to 5 places), but they said it was a very major surgery and that I would have to stop exercising for a year, so I wondered, couldn’t this be corrected with facial contouring surgery? With that thought, I went to about 7 plastic surgery clinics.

There are 5 reasons why I chose Noh Jong Hoon Plastic Surgery. (My standards) 1. During consultation, manager consultation -> director consultation is the default 2. The only doctor who performs surgery is the director 3. An anesthesiologist is stationed there 4. Surgical method 5. Postoperative care + I chose it because they said there is CCTV in the operating room too. (I passed on the other hospitals because they didn’t match my standards.)
When doing facial contouring, my top priority was improving asymmetry, so excluding cheekbones, I had 2 facial contouring procedures (chin tip, square jaw). During the consultation with the director, he said perfect symmetry would be difficult, but he would match it as much as possible, and since I thought the same as the director, agreement complete. And since I’m doing it anyway, it would be nice to become slimmer, right? lol But we proceeded in a direction that wouldn’t look too obvious. It may be too early to say, but I’m extremely satisfied.
Surgery was done on November 14
2 hours before surgery Design consultation with the director He seemed not very friendly but also friendly, like what is this..? That’s how I felt. There’s a saying that if a doctor is a great doctor, they seem not friendly but are friendly, so I actually liked it.
After surgery Coming to your senses is not really a thing. I came to my senses 4 hours after surgery ended. My throat was extremely dry, but if I swallowed saliva, it was bearable. (Fasting) I couldn’t close my mouth, and the pain was.. my jaw was, um... maybe because of the pain-control injection? So far? It was just bearable. I could breathe through my nose.
When I drank water, I spilled 1/3 of it. (I forgot after what time I was allowed to drink water) I could go to the bathroom, drink water, and walk around, and the pain was bearable.
The manager also came by. My younger sibling used to be in the plastic surgery field, and they said there are many places where the managers only connect you and don’t care about the patient, but this place was different. They checked that the surgery was over before leaving. It felt like they were taking responsibility until the end, so I felt reassured and liked it.
The nurse also kept checking my blood pressure. It’s better to give up on the idea of sleeping well.
Day 2 after surgery Since the pain was bearable, I judged that it would be okay to go alone, and bravely took public transportation home by myself. ☆Make sure you go with a guardian (a guardian who can drive)☆ I seriously almost fainted. On the way, the medication wore off, and I regretted it 20,000 times.
Day 3 after surgery My face felt like it was going to burst. Is this right...? I had anxiety that maybe something had gone wrong.
Day 4 after surgery I was really out of it. I had no strength in my body, felt lethargic, and kept lying down. Daily routine: swallowing porridge, swallowing medicine, 1-hour walk, the rest in bed Prepare a teaspoon, and drink pumpkin porridge. You’ll probably spill half of it. Chewing is impossible. I ate a lot of pumpkin porridge, yogurt, and ice cream like this.
Day 5 after surgery This was the day I came to my senses. I wanted to wash so badly that day, so I showered. I brushed my teeth too, and it felt so thrilling that I showered while shouting. Until the day before, my desire to wash was 0, but once day 5 came, my desire to wash was 200%. I bought a small, soft toothbrush.
Day 6 after surgery I became able to chew and swallow porridge a little. Brushing my teeth was also no problem. I mainly brushed the inside of my teeth and my tongue.
Day 7 after surgery It’s really livable. It may differ by person, but for those who work, I think taking 1 week off should be enough. I can chew something. Of course, not intensely. Until before that, I thought chewing was too much, but now it’s not. No feeling that it’s too much. I just brushed my teeth. Of course, I brushed the outer teeth gently.
Day 9 after surgery I had no strength and my head felt heavy, like I had body aches and a cold. The swelling goes down a lot. It may differ by person, but for me, it was tight and swollen until day 8, then started going down from day 9.
Day 13 after surgery The body-ache/cold-like feeling disappeared
Week 2 after surgery I’m completely fine and going to have the stitches removed. They are dissolvable stitches, so they don’t have to be removed, but they said it takes over a month for them to dissolve, so I’m going to have them removed. It hurts when removing stitches, enough to make you sweat
You’re probably curious about jaw sensation, and it’s not completely gone. What it feels like is, when you use your arm as a pillow and your arm goes numb, it feels like touching your fingertips then. It’s numb, and if I touch it, that numb feeling hits strongly. If I don’t touch it, there’s no uncomfortable feeling.
Now a lot of the swelling has gone down, so I look fine, but the swelling inside needs to go down more. They say it can take as long as about 6 months. Because of swelling, it may look asymmetric, but they said it gets better once the swelling goes down. But I already can’t see the asymmetry, so I’m super, super satisfied. For those who, like me, worry because of asymmetry and can’t even take photos from the front, don’t agonize over it and do it. Your mind feels at ease. Even though all the swelling hasn’t gone down yet, I’m super, super satisfied.
It hasn’t even been a month yet, and after more swelling goes down, I’ll post again later.
