Originally, I make a line on my eyes with double eyelid tape and make the horizontal length look longer with makeup. So I wanted double eyelid surgery and posterior-lower canthoplasty.
Since I have a desired line for my eyes, I mainly looked for hospitals good at canthoplasty.
ㄱㄹ - There is a very famous canthoplasty doctor, so I had a consultation. They said no double eyelid surgery at all, no matter how simple my eyes are, and that they would only do canthoplasty. So the setup was that I would have to get double eyelid surgery from another doctor and only get canthoplasty from this doctor. First of all, they said scarring would definitely occur. And they said here it is not posterior canthoplasty and lower canthoplasty separately, but that they create a posterior-lower canthoplasty effect while lowering the outer corner of the eye. I liked the method, but for a simple surgery, having to go through two doctors and getting a scar on my first surgery were things I absolutely hated.. The consultant was very, very kind.
ㄹㄹ - I visited because they said they do canthoplasty in the same way as ㄱㄹ. Compared with ㄱㄹ, they definitely eased my worries about scarring more, but the consultant was businesslike, the doctor looked tired, and since it is a place that makes a clearly open cut after all, there must be risks, but the vibe was that aftercare or communication might be difficult.. If there is anyone who wants a clear, refreshing change, I recommend going at least once. For me, since it was my first surgery, naturalness was the top priority.
ㅁㅇㄷㅇ - I had a consultation with Dr. ㅇㅇㅎ, who is famous for eyes. First of all, all the desk staff and consultants at the hospital had pretty eyes. And the consultant said she had posterior-lower canthoplasty here too, and it was very natural and pretty. I was most worried that the line after lower canthoplasty might look wavy, but she showed me directly with her own eyes, so a lot of my worries disappeared. Then the doctor came in and looked very tired. First, since I said I had a desired line, he did not try holding many different lines separately. He also seemed confident about posterior-lower canthoplasty, but he did not separately look at or hold the space that could be opened. But there were so many before-and-after photos that I think I just accepted it at the time? And both natural adhesion and posterior-lower canthoplasty used dissolvable sutures, and they said there would be no conjunctival edema. Seeing photos with amazing recovery speed (almost no swelling), maybe because I had just visited two intense hospitals before, I was drawn to this natural, low-risk place and put down a deposit (I brought it up first).
ㄴㅅㅎ - Director Kim Da-han. It was raining and traffic was very heavy, so I arrived at closing timeㅠ Still, both the consultant and the director kindly looked after me. When the director came in, even after I told him I already had an original line, he kept holding this and that line, and while telling me points other hospitals had not pointed out, he explained why my existing line was the best. For posterior-lower canthoplasty too, he checked all the space that could be opened and said honestly he did not recommend it because it could not be opened much, but if I wanted it, it would feel about like this, and explained kindly. Later, the consultant also said I could do double eyelid surgery first and then do posterior-lower canthoplasty, so there was no pressure. But what bothered me was that for posterior-lower canthoplasty, they remove stitches after 9 days and I can't wear contact lenses for about 1 monthㅠㅠ
So even though I have put down a deposit at ㅁㅇㄷㅇ now, my heart is leaning toward ㄴㅅㅎ because of the understanding of my eyes and the meticulousness.. For natural adhesion, the line is already decided, so it probably won't be difficult, but shouldn't canthoplasty be done somewhere that is good at it? Considering recovery speed, it is still ㅁㅇㄷㅇ, but I am drawn to Dr. Kim Da-han at ㄴㅅㅎ,, which should I choose so I won't regret it.. sigh
