I started orthodontic treatment in 2012 and finished in 2014, so I guess you could say it has been about 9 to 11 years. In my case, I went ahead because my friend and a classmate had done it there, so I thought there probably wouldn’t be any major issue.
Most people said you need re-orthodontic treatment if you don’t manage things well, so I thought, okay, I guess that happens, but at the dental clinic where I originally got treated, they quoted me 5 million won lol, which I thought made no sense, so I went to another clinic for a consultation.
The new clinic turned me away lol
What I heard at the dental clinic was >>Your teeth shifted because of facial asymmetry.<< They said I need jaw correction first before orthodontic treatment to fundamentally solve the issue. They asked if I had never heard that from my previous orthodontic dental clinic... hahahahaha
They said they could do orthodontic treatment if I wanted, but after a few years I might need re-orthodontic treatment again. Because the facial asymmetry is due to a difference in bone length, it’s a case that cannot be fixed with orthodontic treatment alone, so they told me to get a consultation in oral and maxillofacial care, think it over, and come back...
I’m looking into oral and maxillofacial hospitals now. ㅠㅠ Please make sure to get consultations at several orthodontic dental clinics too before doing it.
