Hello. I had always been stressed about my square jaw, side cheekbones, and chin tip, so I went to consultations at several places. Among them, I decided to have surgery with the director at View Plastic Surgery, who pointed things out clearly without seeming bothered, even when I didn't ask! At my one-month follow-up, I visited the hospital and saw the director, and he said my swelling is going down at a completely normal rate, neither particularly fast nor particularly slow~ He said that for the time being I should avoid only foods that are too hard or tough, and that other foods are okay, but he also advised me to avoid gaining weight haha. I like going to the Han River to run, and he said I can start running now too~ He said alcohol is allowed from the 3-month mark, so I'll forget about alcohol for now~
Now at 1 month post-op, it feels like almost all the major swelling is gone, and there is still a moderate amount of minor swelling left around my cheeks and cheekbones~ I don't think the bruising has completely gone away yet either! But for daily life, as long as I avoid secondhand smoke well, I don't think there is much difficulty now. Since I've started running now, weight management should go better too, and yesterday I jogged 20 km. After getting back, I could clearly feel that the swelling had gone down a lot, and it felt like all the toxins that had built up in my body over the past month were leaving lol. I think aerobic exercise is the best for reducing swelling, even better than drinking things like pumpkin juice! I can open my mouth more than halfway now, enough to brush my teeth with a regular toothbrush, and I plan to keep wearing the compression band consistently going forward!
