First of all, I’m considering double eyelid surgery, and I looked mainly into well-known places run by a single director, then made reservations.
1 Hong Seong-joo Plastic Surgery, Director Hong Seong-joo This was the first place I visited. I had a recommendation from an acquaintance, and it was mentioned a lot in the community too, so I had high expectations, but I was just as disappointed.
My consultation appointment was at 2:50, but I guess there was a surgery right after me. The consultation was 2 minutes? 3 minutes? When I sat in the chair, he glanced over my face, checked the line once or twice, and told me to hold up the mirror. While I was looking in the mirror, he marked the line once and said it could be done like this. That was it. It was my first cosmetic surgery consultation in my life, so I was a bit nervous and had studied quite a lot here and there before going, but it felt kind of empty. So I asked various things, like what kind of surgery I would have, whether I needed canthoplasty or anything like that, etc., but his answers were almost all short. I don’t think the total consultation time was even 3 minutes. The decisive comment was when I said I wanted a clear, open-looking eye shape, and he said, would double eyelid surgery alone make that happen? After hearing that, I just got up and left. Oh, the consultation fee was 5,000 won. Among the clinics I consulted at that day, it was the shortest and most expensive consultation.
2 Queen Plastic Surgery, Director Yoo Hyun-wook
Following my friend’s advice, I had scheduled the next consultation 2 hours later, but the first consultation, including the consultant consultation, took a total of 5 minutes, so I had way too much time left. So I was wondering what to do, and then I saw Queen right in the building next door. When I looked it up, it seemed to have some level of recognition, so I called to ask if a consultation was possible and visited right away. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much, but the director was very kind. He consulted with me for almost 15 minutes? 20 minutes? He did look very tired, but he explained what I asked in as much detail as possible. He also tried out the line a lot, and he seemed very confident in his own skills. So I found myself leaning a lot toward having it done there. The consultation fee was 3,000 won. One thing that felt uncomfortable was that the surgery price differed for cash and card payment.. haha Based on cash, the surgery fee was similar to other clinics, but with a card it was almost over 10% more expensive. Basically, they’re saying they only want cash. That felt fresh in this day and age.
Wow, this got really long as I was writing. I’ll post reviews of consultations at other clinics later. Thanks for reading this long post. I don’t know if it’ll be helpful.
