I had incisional ptosis correction surgery in 2020, and since I’ve been struggling with side effects, I joined a community to look for reviews of hospitals famous for revision surgery. The surgery was done under local anesthesia, and during the operation they had me sit up and lie down repeatedly while carefully adjusting the balance of my eyes. But about 4-5 days after surgery, I developed numbness around my cheekbone, then loss of sensation in the back of my neck, facial numbness, numbness on one side of my face, and so on. It was a mess. After about 2 weeks, I had surgery at the same place to release only the ptosis correction, and suffered from severe pain for a year. After 1 year, then 1.5 years passed, it gradually became more bearable. I did it because they said that if I didn’t do ptosis correction, my eyes would look like sausages, but I ended up with functional side effects, so it’s emotionally difficult. I only released the ptosis correction, and now the appearance looks like I had plastic surgery, but it’s natural. There were people who looked at my eyes and asked which hospital I had surgery at, saying the line was clean and they wanted to get it too. But even though nearly 2 years have passed, I still have tightness in my temples, a foreign-body sensation, and pain, though it has become bearable, so I’m considering revision surgery.
