I went to 3 places in Apgujeong and 2 places in Nonhyeon-dong
First, my eyes are asymmetrical, and I have one large crease on my left eye My right eye has no double eyelid I have epicanthal folds, and my eyelids are thin
I wanted natural-looking eyes and hoped for buried-suture double eyelid surgery
1. Clinic A near Nonhyeon Station Non-incisional ptosis correction / 1.43 million won (tax included) / 6 months of aftercare Inline / no mask removal / 20-minute consultation (doctor > consultant order) / sedation anesthesia
It was my first consultation clinic, and they recommended ptosis correction because they said the eye-opening strength in one eye was weak. They said buried sutures seemed likely to come undone. They were kind and waited so I could ask in detail about anything I was curious about

Clinic B in Apgujeong Buried sutures (strongly recommended epicanthoplasty) / 900,000 won (+600,000 won for epicanthoplasty) / 3 years of aftercare / inline / waiting time because there were many people / removed mask for photos before consultation Consultant (15 minutes) > doctor (5-minute consultation) / sedation anesthesia (done directly by an anesthesiologist)
The consultant explained things well and gently recommended various things It was good that they took photos before the consultation and consulted while looking at the photos. There were many people at the clinic, and the doctor also had a long career. This was the only place where I took off my mask.
3. Clinic C near Nonhyeon Station Partial incision / 1.2 million won (+500,000 won for epicanthoplasty) / 2 years of aftercare / inline / Short consultation time (5 minutes total) / no mask removal / local anesthesia
It’s a well-known place, and the consultation time was too short. It kind of felt like they were explaining while assuming I already knew everything? I did know what I needed to know, though
4. Clinic D in Apgujeong Buried sutures (did not recommend epicanthoplasty) / 1.5 million won / 1 year of aftercare Inline / 10-minute consultation / no mask removal / local anesthesia
I know the doctor is very famous, and since they only do double eyelid surgery, 1.5 million won felt expensive. I guess that means they’re that good. The doctor was definitely kind, explained everything one by one, and drew the line well. But the desk staff and consultant were unfriendly.. I strongly felt like they wanted me to leave quickly. Maybe because they’re so famous. I was thinking about whether I had anything else to ask, but they tried to end the consultation.. “You don’t have anything else to ask, right? Then you can go now~” << a sentence I heard directly
5. Clinic E in Apgujeong Quick buried sutures (did not recommend epicanthoplasty) / 1 million won / no aftercare (up to 10 years if they decide revision surgery is needed) / inline / 10-minute consultation / no mask removal / local anesthesia
I went because it was mentioned often in communities. A famous place. When I asked about epicanthoplasty, they explained why they didn’t recommend it (they put a ruler directly against my glabella and explained it convincingly). The doctor was kind and, as expected, famous. Among the 5 places, this was the hardest to book a consultation for, and for surgery times, morning and daytime slots this year were already full. They drew the line beautifully. The overall clinic atmosphere itself was so-so
Except for no. 4, I think they were all kind But no. 2 was definitely the kindest, and the clinic was large, so in many ways it felt like a big hospital. What I felt while going around for consultations was that what each clinic recommends is really so different, and the prices are all different too... It’s so important to visit several places.
The consultation times were all short because I ended them first. Except for no. 3 and no. 4 (they ended first there)
I’m torn between no. 2 and no. 5.. But the doctor at the last place, no. 5, explained well why I shouldn’t do epicanthoplasty, so I’m leaning a lot that way.. I was worried that because I have a large crease on my eye, buried sutures might come undone, but the doctor at no. 5 said the chance of it coming undone is 1% and told me not to worry.. The only one who gave me certainty ..
