Hello, I am posting this in case it helps those looking for information on functional rhinoplasty for men.
Since I was young, I have always had issues like rhinitis, and every winter my nasal congestion got worse, so I had an X-ray taken at a local ENT clinic and was diagnosed with a deviated septum and nasal valve stenosis. Medication had its limits, and I had also always had a complex about my hump nose and short nose, so after searching around, I decided to get functional rhinoplasty + cosmetic rhinoplasty.
I used the year-end period to gather my unused company vacation days together, including weekends, for about 8-9 days total, planned the schedule, and after Googling, I visited about six well-known clinics around Apgujeong, Sinsa, and Gangnam Station.
For functional rhinoplasty + cosmetic rhinoplasty, there were broadly clinics run by board-certified plastic surgeons and clinics run by ENT specialists.. Since I thought the functional aspect was important, as I wanted my nose to open up and breathe freely, I chose a clinic with an ENT specialist because I wanted to proceed more safely without implants, without interfering with nasal function and without side effects.
I narrowed it down to a few places, and since I thought the surgeon’s expertise, such as number of cases and TV appearances, was important, I chose the current hospital. I also carefully compared the post-op photos. I think each hospital pursues a different style haha
First, during the consultation, the director explained my current condition, problems, and direction for improvement in great detail according to the patient’s needs, so I felt I could trust him. The staff were also very kind from consultation through post-op care, so I was satisfied.
The price was relatively expensive, but since this is not anything else but having a knife taken to my body, I chose to focus on safety and results rather than price, and looking back now, I think I made the right choice! Also, since the septum and nasal valve parts were processed through my company’s medical indemnity insurance, the total cost was reduced quite a lot.
Above all, I had a lot of trust in the director, and from consultation to surgery to aftercare, unlike other factory-style clinics, the chief director took care of me one-on-one, so I was able to trust him and leave it to him until the end. No matter how thoroughly I checked and analyzed, to some extent I had no choice but to trust the operating surgeon and go with it ㅜㅜ
The part I was most worried about was side effects.. When I looked on YouTube, there were many cases where people had surgery at factory-style plastic surgery clinics all over Gangnam by doctors whose faces they had not even seen, and developed side effects. It was scary. This hospital has CCTV installed, and when I saw that they schedule only one or two surgeries a day while considering the chief director’s condition and schedule, I decided to trust it and give it a try.
I am satisfied with the result. My nasal congestion has improved considerably, and I think my nose shape has become more refined than before, so I often hear that my impression looks better.
If anyone has concerns similar to mine, I recommend it! Although it takes some time and money, I think the results and benefits are definite.
Thank you.
