I had my nasal hump shaved down and my nasal tip lifted! They used ear cartilage and septal cartilage, so please keep that in mind. Sharing my review 2 weeks after my first surgery.
I started wearing makeup as soon as the splint came off. When applying makeup, the nose area still hurts, so I have to be really gentle. It feels like the skin is lifting, and it is a bit hard to apply makeup around the sides of the nose. For a few days after removing the splint, the flaky skin was crazy. It was also hard to remove makeup properly, so I washed my face with cleansing oil twice and cleansing foam three times. Even with swelling, my face did not look that strange after makeup!
After 2 weeks since surgery, the swelling has gone down a lot. But the glabella is still swollen, and the line does not yet feel slim, so I think I need to wait a bit longer. As the swelling gradually goes down, you may think, “Oh, it seems a bit low.” (People around me said the nasal tip looks lower as the swelling goes down.) But I personally prefer a natural look, so I think it is okay even if it gets a little lower.
I did not make any effort to reduce swelling. My friends recommended medication and said I should drink pumpkin juice, but I was too lazy, so I did not. I also went for walks for about 5 days after surgery and then stopped.
My runny nose still has not stopped, but I do not think it is because I caught a cold. Still, I am not sure whether it is because of the surgery or because I originally have rhinitis and it just keeps running. Sometimes blood and pus come off when I apply ointment. (Just in case, I have been continuously applying a wound treatment? to the front of my nose and the areas inside the front of my nostrils where the stitches were removed.) Not being able to blow my nose is really frustrating.
The ear area still hurts, so even if it touches the pillow slightly when I sleep, it hurts. The wound has healed a lot, and I do not see bruising. I am continuing to apply ointment here too. I am not sure if it is a blood scab, but something feels hard to the touch. Even after applying ointment, it is still there.
From the front, it does not look very different from before surgery, but I have heard a lot that the line looks really pretty from the side. Because the hump was shaved down, bruising still remains in that area. There is also more swelling around the glabella and the area where the hump was shaved. Compared with that, the nasal tip seems thin.
When I turn my head or tilt my head, maybe because of the silicone? I feel gravity. Like something is moving? I am sleeping carefully.
The swelling and bruising have not completely gone down yet, but I am very satisfied! The line is pretty, and I think the nasal tip was lifted really beautifully. Everyone said you can never be satisfied with your first nose surgery, so I worried a lot, but I am so, so happy. I look in the mirror more than ten times a day. There is no pain, and I do not know whether I have inflammation or not, but I am living comfortably. There is no disruption to daily life at all. Of course, I am being careful not to bump my nose. I walk around guarding my nose. (Being careful in crowded places...)
