Before <before surgery> After <6 weeks after surgery> After <8 weeks after surgery> After <11 weeks after surgery> I had a consultation at the end of May and was supposed to have surgery in early June, but something came up, so it ended up being delayed by two months...! I also wrote a post about visiting clinics for consultations, but this got a bit late. If things had gone as I first planned, it would be much better by now haha
And for surgery, I was originally debating whether to get philtrum reduction and philtrum dimple surgery together, but I decided to get the mouth corner surgery that the doctor personally recommended. My lateral philtrum was also ambiguous, and my philtrum lines weren't so absent that philtrum dimples were necessary, so he said it would probably look prettier to make the mouth corners more defined instead. The mouth corner surgery was more expensive, but I decided to do it haha
The hard parts were the feeling of pulling in the philtrum and sometimes my pronunciation getting a bit slurred when talking? But those were nothing haha Since I used to be a heavy smoker and drinker... Holding back from that for about 8 weeks was the hardest. So what I felt is that if you have about a month of time, it is really manageable, and I would recommend it! Something like that
The photo above taken at 8 weeks was after my first drink in two months, and when I drank, it did get about that red. Now at 11 weeks, even if I drink, it doesn't get that red. My face tends to get a bit red when I drink, so I think it would be good to keep that in mind.
Also, the pre-op philtrum length, which people may be most curious about, was 19-20 mm, and after surgery it became 16 mm, so it was reduced by 3-4 mm! Looking at my before and after all together now, adding the mouth corner surgery really was a stroke of genius..
The after photos haven't been touched at all except for a skin-smoothing filter haha If I have anything else worth sharing, I'll write another post!
