I’m from the provinces, but I caught the surgery bug and kept wondering what to do, and in the end I decided I needed to fix my eyes, so I made reservations a few days ago and went. First, my eyes were 1. Ptosis correction + incisional surgery + epicanthoplasty/outer corner revision (private clinic in Apgujeong): 2.5 million won range 2. Ptosis correction + incisional surgery (private clinic in Apgujeong): 2.2 million won range 3. Suture method (View): within 1 million won or a little over That was the order of my previous surgeries, and after the second one, one side loosened again within a few months, and the line was too thick, so I decided I had to change hospitals. For my third revision, I consulted TS, Item, and View.
At TS (female director), they were confident about the surgery, but there was no especially detailed explanation, and they quoted about 3.6 million won just for the revision incisional surgery + ptosis correction. At Item (the director seemed to be an older doctor, likely the chief director), they said it had not been long since the surgery, and it was not recommended to only do the loosened side; they suggested waiting until the skin sags and then doing revision surgery on both sides. They said they could do it now if I really wanted, but the outcome probably would not be very good, so the estimate was around 2.2 million won. At View (young male director), because I was hesitant about incisional surgery, he said only a simple suture-based re-correction along the existing line would be possible (no line revision, and ptosis correction was unnecessary). It had also not been long since my surgery, but after the second revision my skin laxity became extremely tight to the point that I could not close my eyes well, so because I felt 부담 about incisional surgery, for the third revision I finished by only picking up the loosened line with the suture method. (Only one side was not possible because of symmetry, so both sides would be sutured for now.)
Honestly, after the second surgery I did feel, “Isn’t the line too high?” But I thought it would be fine once the swelling went down. As time passed, it did get better than at first, but the eyes still looked very wide and startled, and I hoped they would come down even a little over time. But even now I think the eyes before the second surgery were much better.. I think sensitive people would have thought, “This is ruined..” exactly like that. So after the second surgery I looked for another hospital for the revision, and even now, although the eyelid has come down somewhat, the high line and the eye shape I had disliked for a long time kept bothering me. It is the kind of eye that turns into a traditional Hahoetal mask when smiling, but an unflattering one (I mean, the eyes become triangular)... Looking at the drawing, it is this kind of feeling below, so when I smile from below and it gets photographed it looks extremely strange, and because the line is high it also gives an aged impression. It feels like the eyes are a little saggy..? So I decided on revision surgery, and honestly I wanted them to tell me during this round of consultations that my eyes were not suitable for revision surgery.
This time, I worked hard searching online and visited 4 places in person.
1) Clinic: Naturalism Doctor: Ryu Woosang Surgery direction: double-fold creation by incision + fat repositioning downward (fat grafting if there is none) + ptosis correction Counseling manager - doctor - counseling manager sequence / 15 minutes from chart 작성 to manager consultation and doctor consultation / 10 minutes for doctor consultation.
This clinic was really quiet, and because the reviews were good I thought the doctor would be older, but he looked very young.. I only knew the name and not the face, so at first I got startled thinking I was being consulted by a rookie doctor. I wondered if I had not designated Dr. Ryu Woosang? Was the consultation booking handled incorrectly? But I just checked the name while writing this review, and it really was him. Just like other community reviews I had seen, he also recommended double-fold creation for me, and said that if there was no fat to bring down around the eyes, he would do fat grafting. I have deep-set eyes, so it was obvious there would be little fat, and fat grafting was almost certain. The price was the highest among the places I consulted. Interestingly, I thought if there was no fat to bring down, they would only charge for the fat grafting, but even if there was no fat to bring down, they charged 500,000 won separately for fat repositioning downward and another 500,000 won for harvesting fat from the thigh and grafting it. When I asked why, he said they had to open it up, check whether any fat remained, reposition it, and so on, so it had to be charged separately. I did not ask about discounts, and there was no prior notice about that either. He marked the line with a toothpick and identified the problems with my eyes accurately. Since the center had already been corrected quite a lot and become round, the double-eyelid line also came in too far on the inner side. Because the inner corner of the eyes is high, the back part comes down, giving a depressed impression, he said. He measured the high line and said it was 7.5 mm, and that lowering it to 6 mm or 6.5 mm would be enough. He defined the double-eyelid line, and it matched the line I wanted. 2) Clinic: Unique Doctor: Lee Junhyuk Surgery direction: double-fold creation + fat grafting + revision ptosis correction Counseling manager - doctor - counseling manager sequence / 20 minutes from chart 작성 to manager consultation and doctor consultation / 10 minutes for doctor consultation. Here, the counseling manager explained a lot of things. She seemed to have surgical knowledge comparable to a doctor, and she accurately pinpointed the problems with my eyes during the consultation. She asked me to show her photos of the eyes I wanted, so I showed her photos of my eyes before the second revision.
The doctor was a bit older. The consultation was generally centered on ptosis correction. During the consultation, he said the inner corner of the eyes was high and the outer side was not enough, and that normally ptosis correction brings the inner corner down, but my case was the opposite. He said that on one of the two sides, the correction line at the inner corner was high, so it would need recession, and the outer corner should be lifted, otherwise the outer side would be overcorrected. In my view, if I did not feel a difference in the height between the inner-corner correction lines, they might preserve the inner-corner correction and only lift the outer corner. He said this is a difficult surgery precisely because of that, and the prognosis does not seem very good either. He only said that if I wanted to balance it well, I should consider recession, but he did not actively recommend it. He also said that if the inner corner on one side is not recessed, there could naturally be slight asymmetry, but by under-correcting the outer corner on that side, it would not become severely asymmetric. For the line, he used a very thin needle-like thing to set it. My previous eye had been semi-out-ish? but because the inner corner is now too high, that side would come in lower, and the back side would fold naturally, creating a line that makes the eyes look longer. It matched the eye line I wanted. But the line was set lower than I expected.. so there was a slight feeling that it might become a subtle hidden double eyelid. The doctor himself said he does not do obvious double-eyelid surgeries. So he also set mine to a slightly low line; aside from it being lower than I expected, it matched the eye line I wanted. The doctor was very detailed in the consultation and set the line several times. He was very slim, and according to the manager, he was extremely meticulous. They said the surgery time would be 2 hours 30 minutes, but it could take longer. They said he works very carefully on line correction.
I also had a fairly long consultation with the manager at the end. She informed me that the surgery price had been raised starting this week, and explained the event price (I am fuzzy whether it was for a review or photo submission). When I asked about swelling with double-fold creation, she said that here they inject scar tissue shots and swelling shots during eye surgery, so there is almost no swelling. It depends on the person, but generally there is almost no bruising and it stays neat. For ptosis correction, she said that if one side is pulled up, the other side can come down as a side effect. Usually they check the postoperative course, and if ptosis correction is wrong, revision surgery should be done immediately, so they do it right away. Mild asymmetry is either observed a bit longer or is not covered by AS. AS 2 years / estimate 4xx
What I liked here was that once you enter the clinic, there are many materials from eye surgeries. In other words, there is a lot of surgical data. Especially sausage eyes and line-lowering cases. And there are many foreign patients too. I thought they might not recommend double-fold creation because another clinic had recommended incisional surgery, but they did recommend double-fold creation here too.. Before the consultation, I looked at photos of double-fold creation cases here, and when the eyes were closed, the line marks looked too much like incision scars, which made me feel resistant.. The good thing was that among the photo materials, there were not many cases where the previous line showed clearly when the eyes were closed after fat grafting was done well. Looking at the closed-eye photos of double-fold creation cases, the lines were generally on the lower side.
3) Clinic: Noh Sanghoon Doctor: Son Wonil Surgery direction: incisional line lowering + ptosis correction Counseling manager - doctor - counseling manager sequence / 10 minutes from chart 작성 to manager consultation and doctor consultation / 10 minutes for doctor consultation. During the manager consultation, she asked whether I had photos of the eyes I wanted and asked in detail about my previous surgery history, including whether I had ever had fat grafting in the eyes.
The doctor was a bit older. During the consultation, when I said the line seemed too high, he talked about proceeding with incisional surgery + ptosis correction, so I asked again whether it was really possible given that my eyes seemed to have no extra skin. He said it was possible. I also asked about double-fold creation, and he said he would not recommend it because it might not come out cleanly. He measured the height of the existing double-eyelid line with a ruler and said 10 mm. That was the level I had measured at home too. Here the consultation focused more on the high line than on ptosis correction. So only later, at another clinic, did I realize that the back part of the eye and the ptosis correction had come down. The surgery time was said to be about 2 hours 30 minutes, and the estimate was 4xx, but if I periodically submitted photos showing only the eyes to their promotional team, they would discount it to 3xx. Here, the doctor did not set the line himself. I forgot to ask about AS..
4) Clinic: Thank You Doctor: Kim Hyungseok Surgery direction: incisional line lowering + ptosis correction Doctor - counseling manager sequence / after chart 작성, unusually, they took eye photos and then proceeded to the doctor consultation. 50 minutes until the doctor consultation / 5 minutes for doctor consultation. This place, both on the app and in person, gave a somewhat factory-like feeling. There were surprisingly some decent review photos on the app, so I came just thinking I should check it out. I chose the doctor based on the review photos. This clinic also felt a bit chaotic. There were many foreign patients.
During the doctor consultation, perhaps because he had just come out of surgery, he mainly said what he wanted to say and then received Q&A at the end. During the consultation, after charting on the monitor, they displayed the open and closed photos of my eyes, and even here he caught that the double-eyelid line was high in the inner corner and drooping in the outer corner. The doctor first rattled off the surgery direction he wanted, and it matched the eye shape I had in mind, so I kept listening. When he set the line, it was exactly the line I wanted. Slightly lower than now, but not an overly thin double eyelid either. I really felt that if the surgery went well, the outcome would be excellent. Here they asked if I had any questions, and when I said I thought my eyes had little extra skin, and asked whether incisional surgery was really possible, he said it was possible. When I asked what if I end up with no skin left to close my eyes after an incision, he said they would not lower the line that much, and that they would only release the existing adhesion and remove the minimum necessary amount.
When I got the estimate from the counseling manager, I was told that although a lower line would mean less swelling than a higher line, revision surgery could still definitely be needed more. AS is 1 year / if I leave a review in the app and provide photos during my visit (eyes only), they would reduce the price from 5xx to 4xx. One laser swelling-treatment session within a month. (Additional sessions may be provided depending on swelling.)
- JT and Misoline were the places I could not go to because the timing and reservation dates did not work out. Reservations at Misoline and JT were really hard to get.. They said they were fully booked. JT was only available as early as next week. Misoline had a bit of word-of-mouth going for it, so I wanted to go, and since they said they do conservative surgery, I was even thinking that if they told me they could not do it there, I would just not do it. JT is one of the places where former Item doctors split off to, and I wanted to get a consultation because I think there was a doctor there who had consulted me about my eyes during the Item days, but the timing did not work out so I could not get one...
The real issue is whether it is incisional surgery or double-fold creation. Because of my extra skin, I originally thought I would go with double-fold creation from the start? But some people say double-fold creation is the last resort... I was torn.
At one of the 4 places I consulted, they suggested I try being a plastic-surgery model. According to the manager, the route is that the manager gets the doctor’s approval and then makes the offer. If I do the model, there is an additional discount off the prices above. Depending on the exposure area, the price is split into 3xx / 2xx. The price is very tempting, but at the same time I thought, maybe they are so confident in my surgical prognosis that they would choose me as a before-and-after model? That is making me lean that way... What do you all think? If anyone who went to the places I visited had a bad result and could not get proper AS, please leave a comment.
