The surgery I had was bulbous nose correction, implant-free nasal tip surgery, hump removal, and columella lowering. I attached the hospital information at the top of the post.
3-month review A lot of the major swelling has gone down, and it feels like some minor swelling still remains. It feels like the nasal tip area keeps gradually getting smaller. The bulbous nose + large nose that stressed me out the most got much smaller as the swelling went down, so I’m very satisfied. I’m satisfied with the height too, and as the swelling went down, it feels like the nasal bridge also became slimmer. All sensation has returned, and the cartilage placed in my nose has settled and is getting softer, so it really just feels like my own nose. At first, during the consultation, I wanted it slightly higher than this, but the doctor told me that because my nostrils are small, making it higher would make the nostril shape too straight, which would not look good aesthetically and would also make breathing uncomfortable. So I decided to follow the doctor’s recommendation, and now I’m very satisfied. When doing the bulbous nose correction, I also wanted to do nostril reduction, but again, because of my small nostrils, the doctor recommended not doing it. The doctor said bulbous nose correction alone would be enough to make it smaller in a way that harmonizes with my face, so I listened to the doctor, and now my nose has become as small as I wanted, so I’m satisfied. It’s not an extremely flashy or high nose shape; it feels like my own nose naturally became prettier. If I don’t say anything, people around me don’t know I had my nose done. After the surgery, I heard a lot of comments like I just lost weight, or my vibe changed somehow, or I got prettier. I originally had some nasal bridge height, and I wanted a natural change like my selfie with a subtle filter or my face in a retouched photo, so I’m really satisfied. There is still a little scar left on the columella area that was opened, but I’m applying scar ointment morning and night and taking care of it, so I can feel the color slowly getting lighter. I expect that after about a year, it will fade to the point where it won’t be noticeable unless someone looks closely. My ear shape has also settled well without deformation. It still hurts a little if I press hard, but since they removed cartilage that had been perfectly fine, I think it’s natural for it to hurt. There’s no inconvenience in daily life; it’s just the level of discomfort where I can’t scrub hard when washing my hair and drying water off my ear. If I don’t pay attention to it, it’s pain I barely notice. My goal was to become naturally prettier, so as of now, I’m very satisfied with the surgical result.
