First rhinoplasty consultation review: Human Plastic Surgery

First rhinoplasty consultation review: Human Plastic Surgery

This review was not written in exchange for a discount or financial compensation from the clinic. I do not remember exactly how I first learned about Human Plastic Surgery, but I think it was probably through Unni or Babitalk.

Human Plastic Surgery is a clinic where Dr. Kim Guk-hyun alone provides consultations and performs surgery. I personally verified that he is a board-certified specialist, and I understand that he specializes in breast and rhinoplasty surgery. According to what I found, he has published academic papers and has conducted research specifically related to rhinoplasty. I also saw that he actively participated in a 2025 academic forum on rhinoplasty and participated on the same panel as Dr. Kim Han-jo of Eight Plastic Surgery.

I had been deliberating over rhinoplasty for more than a year. Turkey was originally the first place I considered, but due to various personal circumstances, I was somewhat hesitant to return to Turkey for surgery. Since I had lived in Korea before, I felt that having rhinoplasty in Korea would be more comfortable and suitable for me for several reasons.

I happened to have a reason to visit Seoul, so I booked an in-person consultation. I heard that, at least for rhinoplasty, Human Plastic Surgery does not offer remote consultations. A CT scan is needed to assess the condition of the nose, so an in-person visit is required. I was also told that because one doctor handles the surgeries, it is generally best to allow at least about two weeks when scheduling surgery.

I had already consulted at Eight Plastic Surgery, so I compared the opinions and surgical plans of the two doctors during the consultation. The clinic provided an interpreter, but the interpreter was not a clinic employee.

At the initial consultation, I explained which parts of my nose I disliked and wanted to change, and I also had a CT scan. I really liked that I did not have to wait long for the doctor’s consultation. Personally, I found Dr. Kim Guk-hyun very calm and kind, and I got the impression that he was highly professional.

He explained in detail the condition of my nose and the areas visible on the CT, and we also discussed what could and could not be done through surgery. He showed me many actual surgical photos to explain the procedure. Fortunately, I am not particularly uncomfortable looking at photos involving blood or bone, so I was fine. We discussed in considerable detail which parts of my nose could be improved and, conversely, which parts would be difficult to change surgically. He also explained the anatomical structure of the nose in detail, one part at a time.

My nasal tip is relatively round and blunt, my nasal bones are broad, and my radix is relatively high. What I want is to refine the nasal tip overall, narrow the broad nasal bones, and create a nose that harmonizes better with my facial features and overall appearance.

After the consultation, I had a very positive impression of Dr. Kim Guk-hyun’s skills and surgical plan, and overall I was satisfied with the consultation.
