I went to consultations this time with my mom and dad, and I’m torn because each clinic recommended somewhat different surgical methodsㅠ
1. Iris (no consultation fee) Both the consultant and the director spoke so kindly and were very warm, so my parents liked them. This was the only place that took notes on a chart and measured the size of the eyes. They told us in numbers how much incision would be good.
Surgical method: Mom - upper blepharoplasty / Dad - lower blepharoplasty
For my mom, the distance between her eyes and eyebrows is not large and her eyelid drooping is quite severe, so they recommended upper blepharoplasty. I told them I was worried about changes in her impression, and they said they would pay attention to that and do the surgery well. They said that for middle-aged patients, sagging continues to develop even after surgery, so taking that into account during surgery is one tip. I could feel that they had a lot of experience with eye surgery. They said my dad probably did not need upper blepharoplasty, because in men’s eyes it could make the eyes look more intense, and they said his eyelid drooping was not severe enough to need surgery. They were firm about surgeries that were unnecessary, and seemed to recommend only surgeries that would likely be effective, so I thought they were conscientious. They also explained all possible side effects for each surgery, which increased my trust. I also liked that they safely perform only two surgeries a day.
2. Gel (consultation fee required) The director was kind, but when I had the consultation there were no waiting clients. Maybe because of the time..? The director tends to explain things thoroughly.
Surgical method: Mom - upper blepharoplasty + fat grafting + forehead lift / Dad - upper blepharoplasty + lower blepharoplasty
They said that if she only does upper blepharoplasty, the change in impression could be significant. They said a forehead lift is not essential, only recommended. They said it would be good to do it if the budget allows, and it seems the director here performs a lot of forehead lifts. There was an event, so if we did everything together, there would be some discount. They said my dad does have slight eyelid drooping, but told us to think about upper blepharoplasty. This place also seems to be visited through word of mouth, but there are not many reviews, and there were more additional surgeries than expected, so I’m unsure.
3. Oskin (consultation fee required) I visited because it was recommended in the comments. The director seemed to be of a suitable age, and there was some waiting. The consultation time was the shortest, but it still felt like they gave all the necessary explanations.
Surgical method: Mom - brow lift / Dad - lower blepharoplasty
This place also seems not to excessively recommend other surgeries. It was a realistic consultation. They explained the surgical method in detail. For areas that would not improve even with surgery, they said clearly that they would not. They said my mom’s eyes could do either upper blepharoplasty or a brow lift, but if she dislikes intense-looking eyes, they recommended only a brow lift. They said her eyes looked like even if she got fat grafting, it would all be absorbed, so it would be better not to do it. They recommended a few procedures other than surgery. I liked that they did not just look at the eyes, but looked at the face overall.
I think I need to think a bit more about my dad’s lower blepharoplasty, and my mom liked Iris the most. When we went for the consultation, I liked that they recommended exactly one thing, upper blepharoplasty, without overselling, and above all, I felt that they operate with safety as the priority, so I’m thinking of choosing this place. The cost was also the best... Or should I go to a few more consultations? Because it’s my mom’s surgery, I’m so worried. If it doesn’t go well, I feel like it’ll be my faultㅠㅠ
