Ptosis correction + upper canthoplasty + lateral canthoplasty, week 3

Before/after My eyelid muscles were already weak, so I tended to open my eyes using my eyebrows. After getting forehead Botox, maybe because my eyes wouldn’t open properly, my vision felt blocked, so I wanted ptosis correction. Since I was going to do it anyway, I wanted to do it at a clinic known for eyes. While looking around, influencer friends and friends who do live-commerce broadcasts recommended Girin, saying they had double eyelid surgery there and were highly satisfied, so I decided to go with Girin and went in for a consultation.

At first, I was only planning to get ptosis correction, but Girin is also so famous for lateral canthoplasty that I was curious about it, so I asked the consultant. She explained it so thoroughly and clearly that I decided to get lateral canthoplasty too.

The doctor who does lateral canthoplasty and the doctor who does ptosis correction were different people, so I had two separate consultations.

Both doctors consulted with me very carefully, and on the day of surgery, they went over the details once more before surgery, so I went in feeling at ease.

The doctors had a lot of surgeries scheduled, so I had to wait two months to match my schedule with theirs. I decided to wait slowly with excitement. I had the consultation in June, but I scheduled the surgery for my August vacation dates.

I think the surgery took a little longer than expected. Before going in, they said they expected about 3 and a half hours in total, but I went into surgery at 12 and came out after it ended around 5.

During the ptosis correction surgery, I think the anesthesia wore off a little in the middle, so I said it hurt and they added a little more anesthesia. The lateral canthoplasty hurt a bit with a stiff, aching feeling. But it was all pain I could tolerate.

Before getting the stitches removed, I was very swollen and it looked a bit rough, but after the stitches were removed, it suddenly got much better. Until week 2, I didn’t wear contact lenses or makeup. It has been 2 weeks since surgery now, and I can wear contacts. Other than the outer corners of my eyes being red, it’s okay. After the lateral canthoplasty, maybe because there is still residual swelling at the back of my eyes, my eyes do look very droopy. And when I close my eyes tightly, there is still some pain, like my eyes feel very stiff and sore.

The ptosis correction and upper canthoplasty really don’t show anymore, and I’m very satisfied with the shape. During the consultation, they said lateral canthoplasty can take as long as 6 months to fully heal, so I’m waiting while reducing the swelling.
