Eye Surgery Reviews

I had my failed medial canthoplasty reconstructed at [Clinic A]

I am leaving a review after medial canthus reconstruction. About 15 years ago, I had right double-eyelid surgery and medial canthoplasty on both sides. I was stressed because perhaps the left side had been opened too much: too much of the lacrimal lake was visible, and the eyes were asymmetrical. The inner corner of my eye also sometimes felt itchy, so after deliberating for a long time, I decided on reconstruction. Even famous clinics frequently mentioned in this community told me that medial canthus reconstruction is difficult and that it did not look particularly strange, so perhaps I should just live with it...... About three clinics said surgery was possible and expressed sympathy that it must have bothered me for so long. I chose [Clinic A] because the surgeon seemed to have a lot of experience with medial canthus reconstruction and clearly told me, frankly, how far it could be corrected. I also liked that there was only one surgeon. (I think the surgeon’s manner and personality may be quite polarizing, haha.) My eyes are still swollen and the scars look severe, but I was told to watch the healing process. Most importantly, I like the shape because it was matched as closely as possible to the other side! My family and friends also say it looks much better. The photo is from day 11, and today is day 15. The swelling will go down, so I am not worried, but the scars are very obvious, and I was told I would receive scar injections every month. I had one during dressing changes, and it hurt incredibly much...... T_T
