Less than six months ago, I had incisional double-eyelid surgery together with medial canthoplasty. The inner corners were opened much more than I expected, exposing a lot of the lacrimal lake, and my eyes looked too intense. T_T It was also subtly uncomfortable when washing my face or cleaning around my eyes, and the scar that remained pointed like a fingernail kept bothering me, so I eventually looked into reversal surgery. Since the canthoplasty area was already practically a revision, I did not want a second revision, so I researched carefully and had medial canthoplasty reversal after consulting Dr. Lee Min-jae at [Clinic A] near Sinsa Station. The thing I cared about most during the consultation was restoring the inner corners to a shape as pointed as possible, like my original inner corners, while reducing lacrimal lake exposure, rather than closing them off into a round shape. I did not want to stray too far from my original appearance, so the doctor examined the condition of my eyes and explained that the plan would be to restore each side according to its individual shape, rather than closing both sides identically. We proceeded with about 1.2 mm of restoration on each side. I was told that the reversal surgery would be performed using a V-Y turnover flap technique, with the goal of preserving the pointed inner-corner shape as much as possible. Immediately after surgery, there was naturally swelling, and I was slightly worried that the inner corners might look too closed, but as the swelling went down, the shape gradually became more natural, haha. It has now been exactly about six months, and the feeling is definitely different from before!!! The lacrimal lake exposure and fingernail-shaped scar that bothered me before surgery have disappeared, and with the inner corners moderately closed, my eyes look much softer. Comparing the photos, I can see the difference again too, lol. What I like most is that the restoration preserved the pointed look I requested. After watching the results through six months… the inner corners feel much more comfortable and natural than before, and I am happily getting on with my life, haha.
