Cheekbone Surgery Reviews

Two years after three-part facial contouring surgery: review

My cheekbones and square jaw were extremely prominent. I had been teased a lot about them since I was young, so it caused me severe stress, and I had always thought I would definitely get facial contouring surgery once I became an adult. My cheekbones were especially prominent, so I asked the surgeon to reduce them as much as possible, lol. I did not want my jaw to become too unnaturally narrow, so I asked them to leave a little bone below the ears. Fortunately, my nerves were positioned high, so more bone could be trimmed than expected. I also had genioplasty. To improve the appearance of my mouth protruding slightly, the chin was advanced a little and shaped into a subtle V-line. The surgery itself was honestly very frightening, but because it was under general anesthesia, I closed my eyes and opened them to find it already finished. I stayed in the hospital for one day. Immediately after surgery, my whole face felt extremely numb and sore, as if it were being pressed very hard by something, and it was much harder than expected. I kept calling the nurse to ask for more pain medication and could not sleep properly. Still, after about a day, it became somewhat better. The next day, after coming home, I was so hungry that I wanted spicy soup like ramen, lol. On day two, I cut a small cup of Shin Ramyun into tiny pieces and barely ate it with a teaspoon. My mouth could not open properly, and looking back, I was really being quite ridiculous. For about a week after returning home, I could not sleep properly, and my face became extremely swollen whenever I woke up, which was difficult. However, I knew the swelling would go down, and even while my face was puffy, I was so happy that I could no longer feel the bones that I did not have a meltdown over the swelling like people describe in other reviews. If anything, I was simply thrilled that the bones were gone. After about a week, life became more manageable, and after about two weeks, I think I was able to go outside. It took some time for my face to look completely natural; the puffy feeling improved considerably only after about three months. It has now been about two years since surgery. The area around my chin sometimes feels slightly tight, though I do not know whether that is because the chin was advanced. I am not the type to worry much about things like that, so I am simply living normally. Other than that, I have no particular uncomfortable side effects. Best of all, I no longer have to feel stressed about my cheekbones and square jaw like before, which is truly the greatest thing. Before surgery, I used to hit my cheekbones practically every day, but even now I am extremely, extremely, extremely, extremely satisfied with the result.
