A mother with a fractured nasal bone: my rhinoplasty review

I’m a mother with an 11-month-old baby, not yet one year old, and one day I fractured my nasal bone lol. I went about three days without even realizing it was fractured, then found out after getting an X-ray while visiting my father, who was receiving a back procedure at an orthopedic clinic haha. I searched the community and found that this was a plastic surgery clinic run by an otolaryngology specialist, so I thought insurance reimbursement might be possible and went without an appointment. But the staff and doctor were flustered, so please make an appointment before going~ At [Clinic B], I had what I think was a 3D CT, and they said it was a comminuted fracture that could not be set non-surgically. I could see detailed cross-sectional images of the fracture and whether my nose was functioning properly, and Dr. Kang Joo-yong opened a PowerPoint and explained the nasal structure to me. It was so easy to understand that I could have explained it myself then. I had always been a little interested in rhinoplasty, but I was also fine without it. I held myself back because I worried that fixing one part would make me want other procedures, and I had never considered spending that money on my nose. I had seen many beautiful female celebrities, but never thought their noses would suit my face; I simply admired them. But I ended up having surgery because I had no choice..!! I underwent septal deviation correction, including septal reinforcement, rhinitis surgery, nasal bone reduction, and K.B. nose surgery using one piece of ear cartilage haha. They said implants could not be used for a nasal bone fracture because of inflammation, so they used my ear cartilage to shape my nose. Afterward, even with roughly normal breathing, a lot more air came in haha. For the first week after surgery, I really had to do nothing and stay at home.. I almost wished I had been hospitalized.. I had to care for my baby and had a mountain of housework, so how could I do nothing? And was the baby going to stay quiet? Babies are babies—they cannot sit still for even a moment. My mother and mother-in-law took turns caring for me and the baby, but I felt bad about imposing on them~~ On day one, it felt as if cotton packing had been pushed all the way into my brain, and even swallowing saliva made it feel like the packing was being pulled into my brain. I was thirsty but did not want to eat anything; it was simply awful. On day two, I adjusted somewhat and could drink water and swallow porridge well haha. I also ate normally haha. On day three, I went to the clinic and thought removing the nasal packing would be the end, but they put medicated gauze back in and I returned home with it They said I could remove it at night. It was my first oxygen treatment, and whoever invented it made a torture device—it hurt my ears so badly that I seriously worried my eardrums might tear. But the nurses only looked at me sympathetically.. They told me I had to endure it... but I think I pressed the emergency bell and came out in less than a minute.. On day four, there was nothing inside my nose, but a lot of dried mucus formed;; breathing became difficult again. On day five, I felt well enough to go out, but perhaps because the air was dry, my nose suddenly would not stop bleeding. I returned to the clinic and had gauze inserted; it seemed to stop, so I went home, but the bleeding started again I came back with cotton packing inserted again.. It finally eased after I took the hemostatic medicine twice. It was reassuring that communication about situations like this was immediate. Around day eight or nine, they finally removed the packing, took off the protective guard attached to my nasal bridge, and removed the stitches~~ I had oxygen treatment for the second time. I wondered whether I was simply too impatient, so I endured it until the end.. Was my eardrum really going to tear? I thought about pressing the emergency bell 500 times while scratching around and silently begging to be saved, and somehow 20 minutes had passed. I endured it well.. seriously.. Surprisingly, I had not even been able to wash until then, so it was extremely uncomfortable~ From the second week, the swelling went down a lot. Since the incision line was underneath my nose, people would not know I had rhinoplasty unless I told them. It was not a dramatic change, but my nose became subtly straighter and higher, so it looked very natural and I was truly satisfied haha. I sometimes think it would have been fine to consider rhinoplasty when I was younger.
