One-month review after chin advancement surgery! ([Clinic A], Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery)

I had wanted to resolve my receding chin, which had been a complex for three years. I looked into several oral and maxillofacial surgery clinics regardless of location, and one clinic met several of the criteria I considered important: [Clinic A] near Sinsa Station. Here are my reasons for choosing it (excluding points proven by the numerous reviews): 1. The most important reason was that the surgeon was not very young. Personally, I believe a surgeon's number of operations and accumulated experience improve my safety and satisfaction with the result, so I prefer surgeons in their 40s or 50s at minimum. 2. The surgeon's demeanor was consistent. I watched nearly all the YouTube videos, and the consistent demeanor made me feel they would handle anything well during surgery, lol. I was careful about this for my safety, not just the surgery itself. 3. During the consultation, the surgeon carefully checked my condition, and I saw an expression that seemed certain they had already calculated how to achieve a good result. 4. We are both from the Gyeongsang region 🤣. To describe the process realistically through one month after surgery (I will leave out unusual sensory sensations that do not feel like my own skin, since they seem to differ from person to person): Immediately after surgery: I woke up in the recovery room after general anesthesia and did not feel any particular pain. However, the compression taping under my chin was tight, so I could not open my mouth and had to breathe only through my nose; because my rhinitis was severe, breathing was difficult. I could not sleep the night before because I was nervous, so I kept getting sleepy and felt dizzy because my mind would not clear. If possible, bring a caregiver with you! Days 1–4: I expected only my chin to swell, but my entire lower face swelled dramatically, making me look extremely unattractive. I had researched the ugly phase in advance and thought I could handle it, but I really could not get used to it. Days 5–7: The swelling stopped increasing, but looking in the mirror only made me sigh at how unattractive I looked, and I could not take off my mask outside. This was when I looked my worst. Days 8–14: This was when I gradually began to look like a person again. Even so, I was still anxiously searching reviews for terms like Thanos, lantern jaw, Kangta, and chin dol, wondering whether something had gone wrong. 😆 Days 15–21: After the stitches were removed in week two, I gradually began to see my own face. Some days the swelling suddenly went down, while other days it went down less; this was also when the ugly phase slowly began to disappear. From then on, I rarely wore a mask. Days 22–one month: There was still some swelling at the chin, but I had returned to my own face and the ugly phase was over. People around me say I look like I lost weight, ask whether I had plastic surgery, or say that something has definitely changed, lololol. Since this is surgery that works on the bone, I deliberated for three years before going through with it, and these days I often think I should have done it sooner. If someone with the same concern is hesitating and sees this, I would say the satisfaction is enough that it seems okay to find the courage to do it. The residual swelling should continue to go down and my satisfaction should increase, so I am really looking forward to it. I will post another review later about how it changes. Thank you.
