As I entered my late thirties, I was also concerned about my face sagging, but at some point my double chin started showing so clearly T_T. Even if it was understandable when I lowered my head, the area under my chin looked thick even from the front, and that stressed me out the most. I tried dieting and various skin treatments, but the area under my chin did not change much, so I eventually started looking into surgery and consulted Dr. Kwon Joo-yong at [Clinic A]. At first I thought removing fat alone would be enough, but in my case the under-chin area was quite prominent from the front, so the doctor recommended combining double-chin liposuction with muscle tightening. The doctor explained that it was necessary to tighten the inner structures as well, not merely remove fat, to make the jawline sharper and slimmer. In the early period after surgery, I honestly could not see the line well because of swelling and bruising lol. But once those started going down one by one, the difference from the front became obvious. Before, the fat continued directly below my chin tip, making the boundary between my face and neck blurry. Now the area under my chin is tidier and my jawline is much clearer. I like my side profile too, but I am most satisfied that my double chin is less visible from the front. It does not look hollow under my chin from having only fat removed. The skin seems to adhere naturally along the jawline, so the lower part of my face looks lighter overall. At my follow-up, Dr. Kwon Joo-yong checked the condition under my chin and my recovery process carefully, so I could ask about anything I was curious about right away. These days people around me sometimes ask whether I have lost weight, but my weight is almost unchanged lol. I guess the double chin had made my face look much heavier and older than it really was. I debated for quite a long time whether I really needed double-chin liposuction and double-chin muscle-tightening surgery, but now I am happiest that I have stopped habitually checking under my chin whenever I look at myself from the front haha.
