Reason for surgery: There were a lot of parts I didn’t like, but the nose is also the center of the face, and it was the area I had wanted to do the most for a long time, so I decided to go ahead. Honestly, I decided after thinking about it for three years? but in the end, I think you only make up your mind after going to hospital consultations. If you’re 고민ing, I recommend gathering information and going for consultations.
2. Choosing the hospital: In my case, I searched hard through reviews on beauty apps and this community, saved all the noses I liked separately, and checked whether there was a hospital + doctor that overlapped. Exactly one hospital came up with 6 votes. I thought, this is the place, and was about to proceed! but I still went to consultations at all the hospitals on my list. In the end, though, I had surgery at the place that got six votes. I decided because they had a separate anesthesiologist, there were many people there, and the consultant and nurses were kind. Also, I was so nervous that I spoke like a mess, but the doctor just understood perfectly and explained everything to me. And this may sound a bit strange, but it was the hospital where they drew blood the least painfully during the blood test lol. I couldn’t even feel the needle going in, so I was genuinely impressed. I think every single medical staff member’s skills, whether small or not, are important (after all, this is still sur!!gery!!), and I really liked that aspect.
3. Surgery details and review: Since I barely had a nose to begin with, it wasn’t raised tremendously, but they still used autologous costal cartilage + ear cartilage + donated costal cartilage.
With autologous costal cartilage, sitting down and lying down after surgery are very difficult for about 2-3 weeks, so it’s good to think carefully about it. But from the start, I had firmly decided not to use implants like silicone at all, so I proceeded that way. The reason was that I didn’t want there to be any chance of inflammation in a what-if situation. The area behind my ear still pulls a little, but it’s fine as long as I’m careful when drying it after showering.
*Personally, the key points of the surgery were for the nasal tip not to be pointy and for the height increase to look natural. People may feel differently after seeing the photos, but personally I’m verrrry satisfied. People around me say it turned out so well, and even the hair salon stylist I went to after a long time said I looked somehow more defined, so when I said I had my nose done, they said it doesn’t show but I really got prettier. A verrrry happy life. Honestly, has it already been 3 months? Now it just feels like my own nose.
For about a month and a half after surgery, it really is tough. Nose surgery is ultimately a major surgery too, so I think everyone should really prepare themselves mentally before doing it. Please really look into the doctor and the hospital properly!
