Before<Before>Before<Before>After<After>AfterIt’s been a little over a month since I had rhinoplasty, and I feel like it has settled to some extent, so I’m posting a review. My nose was originally short, and the nasal tip was drooping. And what bothered me the most was that when I smiled, it looked spread out and the nasal tip looked pressed down, so I had always been thinking about surgery. But I was also a bit scared, so I kept putting it off. Then one day, my younger sibling came back after getting rhinoplasty. After seeing that, I thought I should hurry up and do it too, so I started looking into it. I went to 4 clinics, mostly places well known for rhinoplasty, and each clinic recommended different surgical methods or implants. There were also clinics that flat-out said the nose I wanted wasn’t possible, so I had a slight mental breakdown then lol
But at the place where I had surgery, the director advised me that the nose shape I wanted could be achieved without an implant, but that putting a thin layer of silicone on the nasal bridge would probably be better. Usually, many directors recommend the method they personally prefer, but here it felt like the director recommended the surgical method and implant according to my nose condition and image, so I liked that. They also said it was fine to think it over enough before deciding, and to look into it more and contact them if I was interested. So I think I was able to think more carefully about the implant. And my sibling also had rhinoplasty here, and from watching from the side, there were no side effects and it turned out beautifully, so I ended up having surgery at the same clinic too lololol
For the nose materials, as the director said, I thought putting in a little silicone would have a good effect, so on the day of surgery, during the final design consultation, I decided to use silicone for the nasal bridge and septal cartilage for the nasal tip instead of doing it implant-free!!!
The hardest time after surgery was the day of surgery itself. Everyone who has had surgery will relate.. They put cotton inside the nose for about a day, and that made it so hard to breathe. Since my nose was blocked, I couldn’t taste anything, and because I was breathing through my mouth, my lips got completely dry and cracked ㅠ And I was so thirsty… For about a day, I drank water through a straw lololol I think that was when time passed the slowest.
But on day 7, once the splint and stitches were removed and I saw my changed nose, I forgot all the hard parts lololol It kind of felt like being rewarded for the difficult time, so it was amazing. And from then on, the swelling started going down really well, so every morning when I opened my eyes, I checked my nose first, and whenever I had a chance, I kept looking in the mirror. Is it just me? Right now, the nasal tip still looks tight because of swelling, but I heard the nasal tip swelling goes down last and later it becomes slimmer, so I’m waiting and excited to see how it will change.
Whatever surgery everyone chooses, I hope you go to consultations yourself, choose well, and get good results. And I really hope that surgery becomes your last surgery ㅠㅠ❤
