[Why I decided on surgery] I wanted to correct the unnaturally fixed tip of my nose. Around age 22, I had surgery at a university hospital for a deviated septum and nasal tip using the septum. I disliked silicone, so I used only autologous material, rolling fat into the bridge. Eventually the fat disappeared, leaving only a pointed tip, and I had filler in the bridge.
[What I wanted to improve] Naturalness! In my late twenties, I finally developed the aesthetic sense to realize that a small, cute, compact nose suited my face. But my pointed nose from childhood surgery did not move when I smiled or made expressions, making it more noticeable. My nickname was Pinocchio. I wanted it to look natural no matter what, so I visited places known for making round, natural tips.
[Why I chose Between] I visited three clinics, and only this one said they could open the tip while leaving the bridge filler in place. The others said they would dissolve the filler and insert silicone from the bridge onward. Without filler, I have no bridge at all, and the filler alone is 4 mm. They warned that filler might run out if I had surgery without removing it. But Between confidently said the filler had stabilized because it had been injected long ago, and surgery was possible by opening only the tip. Even after I asked repeatedly, they assured me it was fine, so I trusted them. Opening only the tip also seemed to mean a faster recovery than full open surgery, haha.
In the end, the tip material was changed from septal cartilage to ear cartilage. They explained the approach needed for a round, natural look.
Surgery: ear cartilage, nasolabial angle correction, cartilage repositioning, filling the tip step, crooked-nose correction, lowering the alar rim, raising the columella.
What I like: I was surprised that it hardly hurt after surgery. The first surgery hurt so much that I was miserable for three days, but this time the only discomfort was the cotton in my nose. I could breathe well and kept wondering how it could hurt so little. Daily life was immediately possible. The swelling also went down quickly, so I soon went out. The shape improved too! Unless I tell people I had surgery, they do not notice. I got a naturally compact, delicate nose and love it. Completely satisfied!!!!!! Thank you, doctor!
