I wrote a long post, but it all disappeared because of an upload error T_T I will rewrite it as best as I remember. Some people in the comments asked how similar it is to my original nose, so I brought photos of my original nose, postoperative nose, and nose after removal.
My original nose had a hump starting at the bridge root, and the bridge was curved along the hump. During my first surgery, the hump was shaved down and the deviated bridge was improved with lateral osteotomy. The surgery used no implant. The tip was raised with a septal extension and ear cartilage, which greatly changed the impression because the shape of the tip, columella, and degree of nostril show became different. I had it removed because I was dissatisfied with the shape and had a foreign-body sensation from the septal extension and difficulty breathing.
For the front-view photo of my original nose, I turned my head slightly to exaggerate the crooked bone; when viewed straight on, my nose was not that crooked. I had everything removed from the tip without leaving anything behind, and returned to a natural nose without cartilage suturing. Compared with my original nose, the bridge is much straighter, and the tip seems slightly more lifted. The nostril shape looks the same. I rarely had a chance to check my original nostril shape before surgery, so I cannot say precisely, but it seems more than 95% the same. As the area where the hump was became lower, it may be an optical illusion, but the tip also seems to stand out more.
During the early removal period, I took photos every day because I was anxious before removing the cotton and splint. After the splint was removed and the major swelling went down, I let go of that anxiety, though I am not careless yet haha. Around three weeks after removal, the tip started feeling hard again, and the bridge hurts like a bruise when touched. The columella feels numb, like someone else’s flesh. The columellar scar is flat with no depression because it was sutured well, but mild redness remains. I was told it would become almost invisible with time, so I am waiting.
Removal was on September 2. A little hump remained after the first surgery, but it was not touched during removal. I will delete the photos after a little while.
