I used double-eyelid tape for 2 years and double-eyelid glue for 4 years. I have a lot of fat and epicanthal folds. When opening my eyes, I tend to use a little force in my eyebrows or forehead, though it is not severe. What I wanted: a low in-out line, natural, neat, and correcting asymmetry. I brought a photo of actor Choi Yunji. For selecting clinics, I searched through [community A], [community B], and acquaintances’ reviews. I chose [Clinic A] because many acquaintances had surgery there and it was famous in the community, so I wanted to hear what they had to say. [Clinic A] consultation: I booked the first appointment and did not wait long, perhaps because I arrived early. There were several consultation rooms, though not all were in use. The order was consultant—doctor—consultant. Both the consultant and doctor looked very professional, and the explanations were clear. I showed them the photo I brought, and they immediately assessed my eyes and organized the details. The consultant also drew a line, and then I met Dr. Lee Minhak and checked the line again; he marked only one eye. On the app, only one chief doctor appeared for [Clinic A], so it was difficult to find reviews by doctor. I had not gone in with a particular doctor in mind, so the consultant assigned me to one who specialized in eyes. When I asked about canthoplasty and ptosis correction, they explained that they do not divide canthoplasty into medial and superior; it is a difference in direction. They explained that my eye-opening strength was not weak, but it would still be good to adjust it slightly. They said my eyes were close to deep-set eyes. They told me to visit other clinics and then decide, and that their price was probably on the higher side. Consultation time: about 20–30 minutes. Incisional surgery + slight ptosis correction + medial and superior canthoplasty: 1.6 million won. [Clinic B] consultation: Appointment at 11 a.m. I waited a little, and many Chinese patients were there. The doctor was in surgery, so I only consulted with the staff. After showing the photo, they also recommended incisional surgery + ptosis correction + canthoplasty. The atmosphere was more relaxed than [Clinic A], but I was disappointed that I could not meet the doctor. When I said I had come to see Dr. Han Jaejeong or Dr. Choi Jian, they assigned me to Dr. Han Jaejeong. When I said I was going to consult elsewhere, they asked where and spoke in a tone suggesting that their clinic would be better, making comments about [Clinic A] and [Clinic C]. Overall, nothing really clicked. Incisional surgery + ptosis correction + canthoplasty: 1.7 million won, though I think it was 1.87 million before tax or the cash price. [Clinic C]: I was worried because there were many reviews of non-incisional and natural-adhesion procedures, which might not suit my eyes. Compared with the first two, the clinic had a comfortably cozy atmosphere, which I liked. I had an appointment and immediately consulted with Dr. Cho Seonghyeon. The consultant only explained the cost afterward. He said non-incisional surgery would definitely come undone for my eyes, and even incisional surgery could possibly come undone. After looking at my photo, he said my face was different from the person in the photo and that mine would not turn out like that, then checked the line. He called my eyes protruding, whereas another clinic had called them deep-set. When I mentioned this, he explained that my two eyes were different, that I must have found this uncomfortable when using double-eyelid glue, and that the same side probably looked smaller in photos. They also recommended ptosis correction, and when I said I was afraid it would make my expression look too intense, he said it was necessary to correct the asymmetry and would be fine as long as it was not excessive. Since the asymmetry was fairly noticeable, he said the two sides would need to be operated on differently to balance them. The consultation ended sooner than expected, but I liked how he immediately and accurately analyzed everything at a glance. Incisional surgery + ptosis correction + canthoplasty: 1.9 million won, discounted to 1.6 million with a student discount. [Clinic B] and [Clinic C] offer a 100,000-won cashback for writing a review. Overall, I liked [Clinic C]’s image, atmosphere, and doctor best, so I booked immediately and came home. This was after the college entrance exam. If you have questions, ask me!!
