I didn’t have fat on my upper eyelids, and only one eye looked sunken. In the photo, the eye on the left especially got worse over time.. When I woke up in the morning and it was swollen, it was fine, but around lunch or afternoon, one eye would start to look sunken (like an extra crease) So in the end I decided to get surgery, and what I wanted was only to get rid of the hollowing of the upper eyelid. ****Because I liked the line of my eyes themselves, I asked them to get rid of only the hollowing of the upper eyelid***** It wasn’t surgery to make my eyes bigger or anything like that. So I thought most clinics in the Gangnam area would probably be good, and chose the place where I could get surgery the fastest. At the clinic, they said the hollowing of the eye had become like a line, so if I did a non-incisional method, it would sink again, and that to get rid of it, I needed an incisional method, so I decided on incision. Surgery on 2018/10/16 After surgery, I felt the eye line looked strange, but since it was incisional, I thought the swelling just lasted longer and kept waiting. But my impression completely changed, and the double eyelid became way too thick. It was just strange (I never asked for a thick line) A year passed and I went for a follow-up. They had my pre-op photo up on the screen, and those eyes looked so pretty to me. I said, when did I ever ask you to make my eye line like this? I only asked you to get rid of the hollowing of the upper eyelid. When I said it was too thick and completely different, the director said: My pre-op eyes looked like eyes where double eyelid surgery had come undone, and my current eyes were 90-point eyes. He said everyone else wants to have them like this.
His attitude showed no apology at all, and after the surgery was over, he was even telling a patient that their pre-op face (eyes) looked strange.
When I said people around me all asked why I did it and said things like that, he said, “I guess everyone around you must be celebrities”… (Isn’t that extremely sarcastic?)
So I was dumbfounded and said, it’s my face. Whether they’re 90-point eyes or whatever, surgery is done for self-satisfaction, and first of all, I don’t like it. When did I ever ask you to make them like this? / I was annoyed too, so I asked if my eyes had been a difficult surgery. If you couldn’t do it, you should have said you couldn’t. Why did you act like you were good at it and ruin someone’s eyes? I said I felt like I was going to develop social anxiety. He said he could do revision surgery, but the result could be the same. (Then who would do it?) I was just dumbfounded. The attitude before and after surgery was completely different… I was at a loss for words. Then the director left, and the manager said, not even as a temporary measure, that I should try getting Botox in the eyebrows, near the forehead. She said then the muscle would be suppressed and the double eyelid would look thinner (anyone can see these are not my old eyes, it’s a thick line;;) But she didn’t say they would do it for me as a service because they were sorry. She told me to pay for it myselfㅎ And anyway, they were saying that even if I had revision surgery here, the result would be the same, which means they can’t do it, and they had ruined the first surgery. Rather than making it worse, I just thought I should live with it, maybe it could get thinner, and lived like that. I wondered if it was because of my eyeliner, so I even removed my eyeliner tattoo. But it’s been 5 years since surgery, and it’s just thick, and I can’t find my old face at all. I lived under that stress, and a few days ago I contacted the manager, but the attitude... I felt this wasn’t right, so I’m posting.
Their attitude before and after surgery is 180 degrees different, and even if the patient is dissatisfied, they never seem sorry or say sorry at all (the director and the manager both)
After the last follow-up on 2019/11/28 I gave up on revision surgery here anyway (they said my pre-op face looked strange, and even though the patient was dissatisfied with the eyes he operated on, he said they were 90-point eyes; and that the result could be the same, so why would I do it?)
I thought I should do it somewhere else, and because I needed photos of my eyes before surgery (because I want to go back to how they were), I contacted them in 2021. I asked them to just send me the photos by email (pre-op photos). They told me to pay and come get printed copies ;
No, it’s my face, and at other clinics they get the director’s confirmation and send them - I heard this from managers around me who work at plastic surgery clinics. Even the clinic where I’m getting revision surgery said they can send them through KakaoTalk too (photos)
——————And this time I decided to get revision surgery
I went to consultations at about 6 other clinics, and all of them looked at my eyes and said the fixation is deep / if I wanted them to look exactly like my old eyes, the line should have been set lower / the doctor at the clinic where I had surgery may have set the line the same as before, and if so, it becomes thick like it is now / they said they are sausage eyes.
Thinking about it, I felt really bad that I paid money and lived for 5 years stressed out with eyes that had been ruined, and now I have to spend money again for surgery. For the first time since 2021, I contacted them to ask when and how the surgery had been done, and seeing their response brought back my memories from before.
Honestly, if they have a conscience, they should directly compare the before-and-after photos and ask whether this surgery was really successful,, and whether it is really right to openly say that they are 90-point eyes to a dissatisfied patient…
Even that one word “Yes” in the last KakaoTalk messageㅎ ..I really have nothing to say. The director’s attitude toward patients and the manager’s are exactly the same.
