Hello! This post is being written by the wife on behalf of her husband, because I researched all the surgical information, attended consultations with him, and made the final decision together with him. First, my husband’s eyes were long horizontally, but they looked small because his eyelids covered them! Actually, they looked small back then! (They’re big now.) When retouching our wedding photos and ceremony photos, I even made specific requests like, “Please make his eyes bigger, especially because the inner corners are angularly covered—please make them round.” Functionally, his eyelashes also drooped straight downward, so I thought they might prick his eyes as he got older. Since we were dissatisfied both cosmetically and functionally, I persuaded my husband for almost two years, and we finally went for consultations. First, I searched through this community and various apps to learn everything I could about male eye surgery. I’m the type who searches extremely thoroughly before doing anything. Since it was my husband, not me, having the surgery, I was even more careful because I worried that if we chose the wrong clinic and things went badly, it would all be my fault. After narrowing things down, I made a list of five clinics and booked consultations on the same day at two-hour intervals. The consultation marathon began in earnest from the morning. I honestly thought non-incisional ptosis correction alone would improve my husband’s eyes enough. But some clinics recommended a forehead lift. It was an unexpected surgery, so I was very flustered, and I became much more worried because the procedure seemed to be getting too extensive. One doctor recommended only non-incisional ptosis correction; another said it would help, but that non-incisional ptosis correction plus a forehead lift was needed to fundamentally improve his ability to open his eyes; and another even recommended fat removal because his upper eyelid fat was thick. The diagnoses were truly varied. I thought, “So this is why you have to visit several places,” but the more I heard, the deeper my indecision became. While we were eating at Shake Shack on Gangnam-daero and agonizing over the decision, [Clinic D] suddenly caught my eye. I remembered an acquaintance recommending it before, so I visited that day thinking, “Since we’ve come this far, let’s at least get a consultation.” We showed up without an appointment, but I was truly grateful that they accommodated us and let us consult immediately even though it was the weekend! What I especially liked about Dr. Yu Gi-hyeon’s consultation was that he carefully addressed each of the options we had heard about earlier. He explained details that had worried us in a convincing way, such as, “A forehead lift can be done later rather than now for these reasons,” and “There’s no real need to remove the fat as well.” The decisive reason we chose this place was that he accurately identified my husband’s uneven eyes, which nobody at the previous clinics had mentioned. He said this asymmetry needed to be addressed more deeply during surgery, and that meticulous attention to detail made me trust him and decide immediately. The surgery was over very quickly. The view of Gangnam-daero through the recovery room window was as impressive as a five-star hotel view. The bed was also spacious enough for my husband, who is over 190 cm tall, to lie down comfortably, which was great! The surgery was performed as non-incisional ptosis correction, and he designed it while taking into account that one side might droop more later because of the uneven eyes. In any case, I am absolutely, unbelievably satisfied with the result! My original ideal type was someone with strong, distinct Arab-like features, while my husband had an appealing monolid and eye-smile style. I loved his eyes too, of course, but now he has a very natural inner double eyelid and his eyes look wide open and clear! Instead of always looking tired and sleepy, he now looks sharp, bright, and handsome. His eyes really look dramatically bigger!! Since he is closer to my ideal type, we are enjoying an even more passionate newlywed life >< The part my husband is happiest about after surgery is that his field of vision is much wider while driving. With the vision that had been blocked by his eyelids and eyelashes now fully open, everyday life seems much more comfortable for him. He is extremely satisfied too! Ah, and another decisive reason I chose this clinic was hyperbaric oxygen therapy. I’m a true believer who knows its effects very well, and I had often received it even before. Whenever I went back after surgery for follow-up, they provided hyperbaric oxygen therapy as part of the care, which made me very satisfied. The machine was also the best among all the places I’ve received it. Since it was my husband’s surgery, I was ten times more nervous than I would have been about my own face and researched everything very carefully, but the result was better than expected, so I ended up leaving this heartfelt review. If you have any questions, please leave a comment!
