Eye Surgery Reviews

Three months after upper and lower blepharoplasty — it seems to have settled!

Mom had upper and lower blepharoplasty, and it’s been about three months now! We took a family photo this time, and when we received it, I could really compare her appearance before surgery with now haha. So I’m posting the before-and-after photos together! Before surgery, as shown in the photos, her eyelids were quite droopy, making her eyes look heavy, and Mom often said her eyes felt uncomfortable when opening them. So she had both upper and lower blepharoplasty, and it has now been about exactly three months. At two weeks after surgery, there was still quite a bit of swelling above and below her eyes, and there were bruises and some redness under her eyes, so Mom kept wondering whenever she looked in the mirror when it would start looking natural T_T. As one and then two months passed, the swelling gradually went down, and I could see her eye shape slowly settling, but until then, I think there was still a slightly awkward feeling when looking closely. But after about three months, it definitely looked much more natural. The awkward appearance caused by swelling, like when she had first undergone surgery, had almost disappeared! Before surgery, the area above her eyes was quite covered, but now that area looks less stuffy than before, and the part under her eyes that had looked thick and droopy, along with the wrinkles, had been tidied up, so the area around her eyes looked neat in photos haha. I think what Mom is most satisfied with is the difference she feels when opening her eyes. She said that before, her eyelids felt as though they were weighing down, but now she keeps saying that opening her eyes feels more comfortable than before lol. We took family photos this time and looked at the results together, and Mom was happy while looking at her own photos, which made me feel proud for no particular reason haha. Her original impression is still intact, while only the area around her eyes has been naturally refined, so I think Mom likes that part too. I was worried at first because of the swelling, but when I put the two-week and three-month photos side by side, it was clear how things settled over time lol. I’m posting this for anyone considering upper and lower blepharoplasty who was curious about the swelling process or what it might look like around three months afterward!
