Before<<Before surgery>>Before<<Eyes I wanted>>After<<After surgery>>I had a lot of fat on my upper eyelids, so I looked tired, and even when I had my eyes fully open, people teased me asking why I only had them half open. Because of that, I had a serious complex about my appearance since high school. Even if you set aside people who naturally had double eyelids, I was so jealous of kids whose parents paid for their double eyelid surgery lol. My family was strongly against it. So this was a surgery I finally got after becoming an adult and saving up my own money, so I was really desperate to find a clinic. I had seen a lot of people here getting revision surgery too, so it may have been greedy, but I wanted my first surgery to be successful from the start..
The eyes I wanted are from the photo I showed the directors during consultations. It was an influencer, but I don’t remember the name.. Every clinic I went to told me I had a lot of fullness and sagging on my upper eyelids lol I received all kinds of diagnoses too, like ptosis correction, fat removal, blepharoptosis, forehead lift, and so on..
Everyone here said it’s definitely good to visit a variety of clinics, so I did that, but for me it just made my head hurt even more..ㅠㅠ In the end, I booked with a clinic that fit my budget and cost range, and where the director personally checks every follow-up after surgery. While waiting for the date, I kept searching and searching for reviews. There weren’t a ton of them, but since the clinic itself has one director, I liked that I could trust that all the reviews coming from there reflected that director’s skills. The clinic also looked new, so I wondered if it had only opened recently? But the consultant told me the director had originally worked for a long time doing only eye surgeries at ㅂㅋㅇ? clinic.
I had incisional double eyelid surgery (including fat removal), surgery for entropion, and medial + upper canthoplasty. On the day of surgery, I came home and looked in the mirror, and the swelling had gotten really big, so I was restless and anxious.. But when I went to the clinic for treatment the next day, the director told me not to worry because once the stitches were removed, the swelling would start going down quickly from then on.
And strangely, just like the director said, the swelling really did start going down quickly after the stitches were removed...? I realized again that the director wasn’t just saying it casually, but speaking from experience with a proper basis. I had the stitches removed on day 7, and fortunately, what they said during the consultation about the director checking every follow-up was kept. The director even removed each stitch personally.
I’m now one month post-op..! Do you think it turned out well? I was never very good at makeup to begin with, so I’m only doing very basic makeup, and after double eyelid surgery, a lot of people have told me my overall vibe changed. So I even threw away the dark brown lenses I used to wear, and these days I only wear lighter ones haha. They say my impression looks softer thanks to that.
Also, I originally heard that entropion surgery isn’t covered by insurance at plastic surgery clinics, but I was able to get it processed through insurance, so I did it together. Since it’s only been one month, I can’t say I’m 100% satisfied for sure yet, but at least I think the open, refreshing-looking line I wanted came out, so I’m trying to be satisfied. Actually, I like the line height as it is now, so I hope it doesn’t come down any more.. haha
