Before<before plastic surgery>Before<before plastic surgery>After<immediately after surgery>After<immediately after surgery>After<1 week after surgery>After<1 month after surgery>After<1 month after surgery>My philtrum was flat and almost completely smooth, so it had no three-dimensionality, and I also thought my philtrum was long, so I looked into philtrum reduction with interest and gathered a lot of information. But I have extremely oily skin, and I scarred a lot from nostril reduction too, so I thought philtrum reduction would also leave a lot of scarring. Also, my original shape was an M-shaped lip, so I would definitely have to do the outer side too, but I absolutely did not want surgical scars left near the mouth corners, so I couldn’t do it.
Then I heard from my younger sibling about something called philtrum groove surgery. Since it uses an intraoral incision, there is no incision line on the outside, and I thought I would definitely see an effect, so I booked it, had the consultation, and even had the surgery on the same day.
The result is that I’m extremely satisfied... My mouth shape changed dramatically and became more three-dimensional. As they carved out the tissue and made the groove, my lip lifted slightly, so my upper teeth, which hadn’t shown before, now show.. When I talked with a neutral expression, my upper teeth didn’t show and only my lower teeth showed, so I often heard people ask if I was in a bad mood and that I looked blunt. The M-shaped lip probably contributed too.. Anyway, I’m extremely, extremely satisfied. The lip area is a bit asymmetrical, and the centers of my nose and lips don’t match, but if they matched it to my nose, it would look more crooked, so they carved the groove according to my existing philtrum base. In the immediately-after photo, the center doesn’t match the nasal tip and it looks crooked, but I like it so much that I don’t care about that at all. Right after surgery, it looked a lot shorter, almost like I had philtrum reduction, but after about a month, it came back a lot. Still, seeing that my upper teeth are still visible, I don’t think it has returned 100%. I originally truly had no groove at all, so I think that’s why I saw a bigger effect. If anyone has a case similar to mine, I highly recommend it!
