Eye Re-Surgery@eye-redo

One-month review of under-eye fat repositioning for a man.

This is a review of my previous under-eye fat repositioning surgery.

I am a man in my 40s, and I have lived without paying much attention to things like aesthetics. Honestly, I am still like that now. From my late 30s, the fat under my eyes started to protrude little by little, the tear troughs became more clearly defined, and what people call dark circles gradually got worse. It was especially noticeable the day after drinking. Even normally, I was often told that my under-eyes looked hollow and that I looked tired, so while looking around online and on YouTube, I learned about under-eye fat repositioning and started searching for plastic surgery clinics. Of course, I also got a lot of information from this community.

I visited about 3 places. The first 2 both recommended lower blepharoplasty, but I did not have the time, and I was also a bit scared because they said skin would need to be excised, so I only had consultations and left. I had already checked the estimated costs beforehand too, but during the actual consultation, various things were added and the price came out much higher. Also, lower blepharoplasty is something I could do later when I am older, so I was not very inclined toward it.

Lastly, I visited another plastic surgery clinic and had a consultation with the director. He consulted with me for over 30 minutes and explained everything in detail from the beginning. He really kindly went over everything. The director said it was still a bit early for lower blepharoplasty, so we should try only fat repositioning first, and he honestly told me the parts I might not be satisfied with if I only did repositioning,,,, I trusted him, so I signed the contract and had surgery one month later.

Like other people, the surgery took under an hour, and there was no pain. Maybe because the aftercare was good, I did not have any bruising, and the swelling started to go down gradually from around week 2.

As I wrote at the beginning, since I am in my 40s and usually do a lot of outdoor activity without even applying sunscreen, I have severe photoaging and many wrinkles. I am not in a state like someone in their 20s, with no wrinkles, vitality, and elasticity, so I did not have the desire from the start to completely eliminate everything. My expectations were not high, to the point that I would be satisfied with improvement alone. There are parts I have to accept to some extent because of my age.

The photos from top to bottom are before surgery, one week after surgery, and one month after surgery. Personally, I am very satisfied, and I feel good just not hearing anymore that I look tired. In my opinion, it looked best after week 2, when there was still a little swelling. I was told it may become a bit more hollow over the next few months, so I think I will have to watch and see.

Thank you for reading this long, disorganized post. Since it is not a major surgery, I wrote this to recommend it to middle-aged people like me whose condition is not great.
