A perfect case of asymmetrical eyes! On the right, the mucosa is also showing, and the ptosis correction fixation is deep, with a high line On the left, by contrast, the ptosis correction didn’t take properly, the line is loose, and it’s lower than the right side (more natural!)
In common, the directors mostly said they would slightly lower the high, deep fixation, adjust the high line too, and on the left side they would also slightly increase the ptosis correction and raise the line a bit
I’m deciding between two clinics
At clinic 1, the director said it’s an understandably difficult eye. Lower the line with a double-line method, raise the line on the other side, and lower the ptosis correction fixation a bit. It can be improved sufficiently, and it’s not a difficult surgery.
At clinic 2, the director didn’t say the eye was difficult. They said line adjustment would of course be done, and the ptosis correction would also be addressed like at clinic 1, but they weren’t sure whether the mucosal show or the fixation issue could be improved. Of course they would lower the deep, high fixation, but honestly they said they would have to open it up to know. If the inside has scar tissue, they can’t pull it tighter or lower it any further (another clinic also said this part). Only line adjustment is possible.
At first I thought I’d go with 1, but 2 somehow feels more honest? But what’s most concerning about 2 is that apart from 1 and 2, every other clinic just said there was nothing special to say about lowering the fixation or doing lower blepharoplasty and simply said they would lower the fixation.
I’m not sure whether the director at clinic 2 is honestly explaining all possible side effects, or whether they just aren’t confident in this kind of case... Only one other place said they’d have to open it up to know. And I’m most drawn to 2.
It’s been several years since my first surgery. I’ve already gone back for consultations everywhere and have visited a lot of clinics to narrow it down. In your view, should I look at more places? Or would the honest clinic 2 be better... I left the clinic names out on purpose.
