I had revision surgery in 2022, and even at the time of that revision, I did a huge amount of online research and legwork.
After researching online, I narrowed the list down to 6 places and booked consultations with all of them, then ended up making a reservation at the 4th clinic I visited.
Thinking about it now, I wish I had received consultations at the remaining 2 places too before deciding.. but what’s the point of regretting it. In the end, I’m scheduled to have a second revision surgery in 3 days.
Last year, as soon as the splint was removed after the revision, I thought I would end up having surgery again. The nasal tip was a bit elongated, so it had a very slight droopy, arrow-like nose feel.
People around me all said it looked fine and pretty, but every time I looked in the mirror or took photos, I only saw my nose.
Considering it was the result I got after spending a lot of money and enduring pain, I was 100% dissatisfied, so with second revision surgery in 2023 as my goal, I started looking into all sorts of things again...
Among the list I made through online research last year, I happened to learn about one place I hadn’t consulted with through a YouTube video about a second revision rhinoplasty review (a personal channel, not a clinic channel).
The situation was 90% similar to mine, and the post-surgery nose looked 100% improved.
The YouTube video didn’t disclose the clinic information, but using the information I could figure out from the video, I barely managed to track down that clinic.
I booked a consultation right away... I booked it for November, but because of my personal circumstances, I ended up having the consultation in early January.. luckily, I got the earliest available surgery date.
I’ve been to consultations at several places, but the consultation with the director was very, very satisfying.
Since it is a second revision, my needs were clear, and the nose shape I wanted was also clear (I prepared photos).
Before I even explained my needs in detail, the director pinpointed every single one of those areas.
Honestly... I can’t completely ignore the saying that surgery is a matter of luck. Just like I’m getting revision surgery because I felt dissatisfied at a clinic where other people turned out pretty and posted reviews (I clearly communicated my intentions, and right before surgery, when designing the nose, I emphasized them clearly too)
The clinic where I’ll be getting my second revision in 3 days is also... you don’t really know until it’s done.. until you open the lid, right?
But after the consultation, more than ever, I wanted to do it at this clinic, so I booked the surgery date right away.
Since it’s a second revision, the surgery cost is not easy to bear either, but rather than being stressed for the rest of my life, I also didn’t want to miss a place that felt right just because of the surgery cost.
And I’m going to put an end to my rhinoplasty journey at this clinic. During my first nose surgery and my revision surgery, I only lurked in this community, Naver cafes, and plastic surgery apps. But for this second revision, since it will be the end, I want to be helpful to people like me who are considering a second revision rhinoplasty and are looking for a good clinic.
For now, I won’t disclose the clinic or director information. After opening the lid, I’ll come back with a review post. (It’s not one of those commonly known factory-style clinics. It’s a place people who know hear about by word of mouth. Once I become pretty and never need surgery again, I’ll spread the word widely.)
