I had been wearing glasses for about 10 years, and there were many inconveniences to wearing them, so I decided to get SMILE LASIK. The first thing I worried about most was choosing a hospital. Since it was surgery related to the eyes, I think I considered it even more carefully before deciding. Because of my circumstances, it was hard to go around to several hospitals to look into them, so I researched through YouTube and people around me. Many people introduced and recommended SNU Eye Clinic, so I looked into it personally and decided because I judged it to be trustworthy enough, with directors who had excellent skill and experience. The preoperative tests and consultation were also thorough and kind. I hoped to receive surgery from Director ㅈㅇㅅ, so I made a date reservation and went home. On the day of surgery, they performed a simple examination, and I met the director in person, who checked whether there were any issues with proceeding with surgery. After hearing brief precautions and the surgical process, I went straight to the operating room. The surgery itself may vary from person to person, but in my case, there was no pain at all, and the director calmly guided me even during the surgery, so there were no problems at all, and I completed the surgery safely. They said there could be pain once the anesthesia wore off after surgery, but there was no postoperative pain. I had a little eye stinging, so after going home, except when putting in medication, I kept my eyes closed as much as possible. From the next day, the eye stinging and foreign-body sensation disappeared. It looked slightly hazy, as if the focus was blurry, but overall I could see really clearly. Today is day 10 after surgery, and because I am putting in artificial tears regularly, I do not feel much dryness. I still have a feeling that the focus is blurry, but it is to the point that it does not interfere with daily life at all. I also do not really feel much glare/halos. Before surgery, I thought about it a lot and worried, but the progress has been so good that I am satisfied, and I feel like I am recovering well, so I think it was a choice without regrets. If anyone is considering surgery, I recommend getting it, and I also recommend doing it at SNU Eye Clinic.
