The doctor was incredibly kind, and I liked that he explained everything carefully, one point at a time, no matter what I asked. He recommended silicone plus donor rib cartilage, and said that if I wanted to use my own tissue, I could do silicone plus autologous costal cartilage instead. But because it was the first surgery and was expensive, and because scarring can’t be ignored, he honestly said he would recommend donor rib cartilage more. I’ve been to consultations at many plastic surgery clinics, but I think his aesthetic sense is pretty good too. He drew things out by hand while explaining, and he has his own standards. When I asked about the risk of inflammation and capsular contracture with silicone, he explained by drawing a graph about bacteria after surgery, which can be a cause of inflammation. But I was more drawn to custom silicone, so I put it on hold.
